I also use it for easy Monkees references (especially links to other lister pages). Keep up the GREAT work Brad. Robbie WhiteSigned on: Thu Sep 5 08:10:21 MST 1996

Hi all you fellow Monkees fans! I'm happy to have a forum to express myself in. I have been a fan for 10 years and was thrilled with the prospect of a tour this year. The only problem was I live in Florida! Why no stops in this state? I'm willing to travel around the state if necessary. Any other southerners out there, please join me in my plea. PLEASE bring the Monkees south! We Floridians forgive Davy for that National Anthem incident in Orlando.Signed on: Thu Sep 5 09:39:53 MST 1996
Dear Fellow Monkee fans, Hi! I am a first generation fan and my favorite ex-Monkee is Michael. My best friend & I play MN's songs in our band, including: "Joanne", "Yel- low Butterfly", "I Am Not That", "Talking To The Wall", "Moon Over The Rio Grande" and "Nine Times Blue", to name just a few. I was fortunate enough to "hang out" with Peter in 1980 when he came to Florida for a convention and to play some concerts. It's too bad The New Monks broke up,'cause they really cooked onstage. I really love PT's "Stranger Things Have Happened" tape. I guess my favorite song on it is "Milkshake" (especially since MD & MN sang backup on it). Anyway, I'd love to get e-mail from any Monkee fan, and especially any fellow "Nezheads" (You know who you are!). Take Care, "Chip"Signed on: Thu Sep 5 09:50:55 MST 1996

This is my favorite page on the web. Keep up the great work, Brad! I've been a Monkee fan for the last 25 years of my 29year old life, and finally, this summer, I had the opportunity to meet 3 out of 4 of my favorite people on a couple of occasions! What a dream come true! I saw three shows this summer (Raleigh, Charlotte, and Fairfax), and I have to say the show was fantastic! I saw the 20th reunion tour in '86, and ten years has brought on some wonderful improvements! Micky Dolenz--my favorite singer and actor of all time--can truly sing anything --if you haven't heard Micky sing "Since I Fell For You" live, well, you just aren't living rightSigned on: Thu Sep 5 14:01:46 MST 1996! Howdy Brad, Monkee Listers, amm'ers, and Monkee Fans everywhere, and to any of you "Actual Monkees" who might drop inSigned on: Thu Sep 5 14:03:31 MST 1996... It was great fun watching the development of the tour from the early shows in Reno, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Salt Lake City, through Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Buffalo, Ledyard, Hersheypark, Beverly, Valley Forge, Long Island, Raleigh, Charlotte, Wilkes- Barre, Fairfax, and Poughkeepsie Guess everybody knows how I spent *my* summer vacation, eh? ;) But the *best* part of the tour was getting to meet my fellow "internet fans"... it was a real treat, folks! We've got to do this again Real Soon... ==Torka the Cybrarian
I was sitting in front of the TV the day the first episode was shown. I talked my mom into rushing me to the store the day their first album was released. I've only seen them live once (recent) on the Pool It tour. Unfortunatly, I've never seen (my favorite) Mike - live!Signed on: Thu Sep 5 14:09:34 MST 1996

I've been a fan since about 1966. I've met both Mickey (at an auto show) and Davy (ran into him at a supermarket), and since getting online have had a great time on alt.music.monkees. Hi all Monkee fans. I've been a fan for the last 10 years. Lets ALL try to get the Monkees in the Rock-N-Roll hall in fame in Cleveland, Ohio. I enjoy the Web site but could we change the song, maybe something from the "Headquarters" album. If any one would like to start a group e-mail, to connect fans with Monkee News. mack1@wow.comSigned on: Thu Sep 5 17:39:25 MST 1996
I'm a first-generation fan. I've just this year seen my first live Monkees concert; two, in fact, and saw one of Peter's shows with James Lee Stanley. Also had the opportunity to meet fellow on-line fans. >. This is one of my favorite sites on the net. Without this and Monkee Business Fanzine, I might have missed these events, the way I missed both Nez and Peter giving solo shows in my own neighborhood.Signed on: Thu Sep 5 17:46:16 MST 1996
Hi Brad, I love your page, it's just terrific! I have been a fan of the Monkees for ten years now, since I was 11. I love their music, Headquarters is my absolute favorite Monkees album. I have been a Davy fan from the beginning, but I must say I've really taken a liking to Peter. I had the priviledge of meeting Peter and Davy during this recent tour, and Peter was by far the sweetest. He was so friendly, and he let me get a picutre with him :) He even gave me a hug! I will never forget his kindness towards me, it will stay in my heart forever. I do hope I will get a chance to meet Micky if they tour again. In closing, I'd just like to say that the Monkees mean the world to me, I hope they continue to tour for as long as they are able :)Signed on: Thu Sep 5 18:28:51 MST 1996
I put my middle name so you wouldn't think I'm a guy - it happens a lot :( I remember seeing the show a few isolated times when I was a kid (mid '70s). It didn't really make an impression on me until the early '80s, though. I was a fan of the show and the music BEFORE MTV had their "Pleasant Valley Sunday". WFLD out of Chicago used to show them weekday mornings at 10:30 (I remember this because I used to RUSH home from my high school at lunch - I lived a couple of blocks away - to catch the last few minutes of the show every day). One day, my mom was off of work and I BEGGED her to record that day's episode for me. She did, and that was the episode I lived off of until I was able to record more during Christmas vacation that year (1984). That episode - still one of my favorites - was "The Case of the Missing Monkee". Micky is my favorite. He is SOOOOOOO funny and such a versitile performer. Mike and Peter are tied for second, and David comes in third (sorry!). My favorite song is "Sometime in the Morning", but there are a lot of close seconds. It depends on the mood I'm in and my state of mind. I've seen them twice in concert - at the Wisconsin State Fair in 1986, and at Milwaukee's Marcus Amphitheater in 1987. They were just in Milwaukee again this past weekend (September 2nd), but I didn't go see them this time (shame on me). I also went to a book signing thing for "They Made a Monkee Out of Me", but David had to leave before he could sign my book (this whole book-signing thing has really turned into a drag, man - a stone drag!). I used to have all of the episodes on tape (thanks, Nick at Nite!), but in a fit of temporary insanity about 5 or 6 years ago, I threw them all away. I figured it was a teenage phase that I had grown out of (go ahead and scold me - I've done it myself several times). Of course, I realized the error of my ways, but it was too late. I managed to copy some of the tapes I made for my friends (I was the only one who had cable), but it just wasn't the same. I was ELATED when I heard last year that the episodes were going to be released on video!!!!!! I didn't hear anything more about it, but ran across 8 2-episode tapes at the video store just this past weekend. Of course, I quickly scooped them up and watched them all on Saturday. I've been looking around for more, but keep running across the same 8. Is Rhino releasing them in bunches, or are my local video stores just lame?? I called their 800 number and ordered their catalog, so it shouldn't be too long before my library has been restored. Well, enough rambling from me. Time to change the CD, anyway. Talk to you later!Signed on: Thu Sep 5 18:47:43 MST 1996
Hi, y'all! How's my favorite Monkee Crew? And my #1 Micky Man? I tried to indent and it went down a whole space. Sorry 'bout that, Brad. Micky and I have been great friends ever since the summer of '87. We met after a Monkee concert in Augusta, Ga. on July 24, I believe, on Em's birthday. Micky met me backstage in spite of the civic center guards ferocious remarks!! "You're not allowed back there! You can't go back there!" And after the concert they proceeded to point me to the exit, but just then, Micky's bodyguard stepped up to me and said that Micky wanted to see me. I had him wait a second, turned my electric wheelchair around, and stuck my tongue out at them!! We continued backstage and heard a voice. "Hey you guys, over here!" There he was, in all his barefoot glory! I don't mean to embarrass him, but... he was GORGEOUS standing there in his black and orange tank top, white cotton pants, and a tired smile behind those twinkling big black eyes! He took off his white jacket and put it aside on the table behind us. We talked for a few minutes, he seemed very interested that I was studying to be a script writer at Wright State Univ. here in Dayton, Oh. Anyhow, that's how we met. We've seen each other 9 times in almost 10 years. We've met at his booksining, "GREASE!", and his world famous "one-man art show" just recently in Cleveland, Oh. I met Davy for the first time in Fla. on Oct. 7th. '94. He and Micky gave an oldies concert at The Star Music Theater, along with some other oldies groups. I was very impressed with Davy! I told him that I graduated from WSU with his niece Heather Douglass. I think HE was impressed with me, too. I met Peter for the fist time at the Monkee's 30th Anniversary Tour and let me tell you Peter fans, he is a great hugger! The concert was SUPER! There were over 3,000 of us fans at the Cincinnati Zoo and we ALL made MONKEE HISTORY! The guys all looked GREAT and they even had a substitue Mike Nesmith in the audience...he turned out to be a whole lot younger and cuter than the original Mike. HA! I ran into friends I hadn't seen in years, the Monkee Crew all knew me, and it just turned out to be a re-union! It was the ABSOLUTE BEST MONKEE CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN A PART OF! I LOVE YOU, GUYS! It's getting late...I gotta run. OOOXXX, Micky! Love ya! BarbSigned on: Thu Sep 5 18:57:04 MST 1996

Hi! I've been a fan since I was 12 and I'm now 23. I think these guys are the best! I was fortunate enough to see them in concert in Oklahoma City but not fortunate enough to meet them. I just wanted to express my gratitude toward David, Peter, Micky and Michael for their dedication and perservrance. All of their hard work has finally paid off because they now have four generations of fans. And each one has had his or her life touched by their music. It's fair to say that they can now reap what they've sown. I'd also like to thank Brad, Nadine, Maggie, and the others who unselfishly give their time to keep the fans informed through the web pages and through that wonderful fanzine. A thank you should also go out to Michael for the new page. Each one of you are truly appreciated by all of us. Keep up the excellent work guys and gals! Thanks for letting us express our views and our feelings about our favorite group, THE MONKEES!Signed on: Thu Sep 5 19:35:14 MST 1996

CONGRATULATIONS, BRAD! The Guestbook is a nice addition to an already superb page. It took me 30 years but I finally did it.... Attending 6 concerts on the eastcoast has made one unforgettable summer for me. Getting backstage at 2 of them only completed my Monkee dream. It was also great meeting & getting to know quite a few of my fellow listers. /me waves to you all Right now I'm going through total Monkee withdrawal. That PMS (POSTMONKEETOURSYNDROME) has raveged my soul. BTW, HELLO!? RUTH?!> I'm the one that gave you the film in Poughkeepsie!Signed on: Thu Sep 5 20:22:11 MST 1996
Hi! I have been a fan since the beginning of 1987. I was watching the end of a TV show when they played the film clip to Daydream Believer. Just prior to that the host mentioned that the Monkees were getting back together. Unfortunately, I didn't hear this properly and went around telling everyone that the Beatles were getting back together (Eek! Oh well, I was only thirteen what did I know!) I later saw Davy and Peter being interviewed on an Australian TV show and wondered who they were (as I had missed the introduction to the segment). When I heard they were the Monkees I had a flashback back to when I was about 6 and had seen an episode of The Monkees - all I could recall was that they lived in a house on the beach that had a spiral steel staircase (I had a thing for stairs when I was little - go figure) and there was a guy called David Jones who was really cute. From that moment on I was a fully fledged Monkee fan. It took about two years after that (the end of 1988) until I became interested in their music - it had never occurred to me to like them for their music and I only started listening as a way to hear their voices. I now have over 70 LPs, 80 singles and EPs, and about 50 CDs. Unfortunately, living in Australia the Monkee phenomenon never really hits during the reunion tours so very little is shown on TV or is available in stores. However, the amount of stuff I have heard about via the internet is great and I truly appreciate all the information I have gotten due to pages written by Monkee fans and related people. I better go before everyone gets sick to death of me, but I would like to know if anyone hears whether the guys are going to tour Australia sometime soon. I saw Davy in concert in '91 and got my picture taken with him and that was totally cool - but to experience all three of them would be phenomenal.Signed on: Thu Sep 5 20:47:09 MST 1996
I've never not been a fan of the Monkees! Born in Oct.66, I'm sure Mom plopped me down in front of the tv while they were on.Too bad I missed the first month! I really grew up with them. I saw them live for the 1st time in Hershey thinking,"There they are. It's really them!!!" I'm quite anxious to hear the new album,"Justus" knowing it's just them playing everything. I really hope they tour for it. Thanks for a great web page and I'll talk to y'all in a.m.m.! I really want an a.m.m. T-shirt!!!!! Fav Monkees moments: Daily Nightly video(?), Micky backing vocal in Door into Summer, Micky&Peter looking in my direction in Hershey (some of us ran to the front of the stage, but security wouldn't have it!), Monkees in concert episode, live Circle Sky from Head when they really were a BAND!!!, 212 green, Pete: "You're a Hippie! Davy: "Don't hit me with a stick.", Monkees Theme-TV version, Davy's dance, "...and the same goes for Christmas!", For Pete's Sake, etc.etc.... Hi there fellow Monkee fans! I am a 1st generation Monkee fan. I was 11 years old back when it all started in 1966. I remember anxiously awaiting that first episode. I had seen the ads for the show during the summer and I thought the show would be great. I was right! From that first Monday night on, I was hooked. I took my 14 year old daughter to see Micky and Davy in concert last year. Wow, did we have fun! Thanks, Brad for this great page. Love it! I was born in 1966, and have been a Monkees fan since preschool. What makes being a fan so worthwhile is that these guys continue to be current and relevant, more than we can say for bands such as the Beach Boys. I am more of a fan in 1996 than I have ever been! Hello to the Monkees and all of their fans. Jeff AndersonSigned on: Fri Sep 6 16:12:50 MST 1996

Great site been a big fan of the Monkees since 1966 . Saw the lads (only 3) on last tour of Aussie would hope they can get back over again for their 30 yrs aniversary. Met Davy great guy down to earth and their show was brilliant. Good to see so many other fans still out there. TV show has just started again over in australia and great to see all those episodes again. Wish they would show 33 1/3 rev's again and start importing more cd's over here. AM a big fan of the Nez and all the guys . Their must wont date. Work as a DJ and still get requests. Way to go guys.Signed on: Fri Sep 6 17:02:00 MST 1996

I'm an original fan from the late sixties. I was about 7 when the show was on TV. I never saw them on tour until this year. I could not talk my husband and daughter into seeing the show with me, but my parents were willing to go with me to the show in Valley Forge,Pa. We all liked it so much, we saw them three weeks later in Wilkes Barre. It was worth the 150 mile drive.Signed on: Fri Sep 6 18:43:04 MST 1996

A fantastic Monkees' Page. Brings my memories back to the good old days of rock and roll. Being the Beatles of America, the Monkees command a great following of fans as well, me as one.Signed on: Sat Sep 7 06:40:00 MST 1996
Love ya! BarbSigned on: Sat Sep 7 06:42:29 MST 1996

Hey guys! I've been a Monkees fan since about 1985, when I was about 7 years old. My friends and I used to pretend to write letters to ourselves from the Monkees, and my weirdest daydream ever was that they drove around with a little box that could sense wherever their music was playing, so that they would eventually stop by my house if I played my records long enough, and I would actually get to meet Davy Jones. It never happened, unfortunately, but I saw them in concert about a month ago in Virginia Beach, and it was great!!!! My friend Julie went with me. (she told me that I had to put that in here) I think that Davy Jones is the coolest ever because I love his accent. My favorite song is "Hold on, Girl". (Julie's favorite song is "She's Movin' In with Rico", from their 1987 album, Pool It-she was very upset that they didn't play it at the concert) I am very glad to be on this page, because here at James Madison University, I can't find a lot of Monkees fans. (although, I have found a fair number) Hope to talk to you all soon!! :) Sarah Nash (actually from Lynchburg, Va, but going to school here in Harrisonburg)Signed on: Sat Sep 7 13:04:05 MST 1996
Dear Monkees, My sister watched you and enjoyed your show. Now I'm also hooked on you guys and your music! My sister and I saw you at your concert in Richmond Va. and we enjoyed it immensely! Your Fan, Josh Watson P.s.-I hope you have fun on your tour!Signed on: Sat Sep 7 16:50:03 MST 1996
Hi Monkee Fans! I was born in 1960 and remember seeing them for the first time in 1966. I will proudly admit to anyone who asks that I am a true Monkee fan! I was too young to see them when they toured in the late 60's (besides, everyone else in my neighborhood was a Beatle fan), but I think that I have made up for that by seeing them in the Balto/Virginia area 3 times in 1986, twice in 1987 and again last month at the Patriot Center in Virginia. That was a great show! Thanks Brad for all your work with the Monkees and for keeping fans like me in touch with my all time favorite group. I took my 8 and 5 year old to the concert last month, and now they are Monkee fans too! They love the "Here they come, walking down the street......" I was able to tape all of the shows that ran in 1986 on cable and now my little ones love to watch all the episodes too! Those tapes are one of my prized possessions. Thank you Monkees for bringing so much happiness to me throughout they years, and I look forward to keeping in touch with all your future plans. LoriSigned on: Sat Sep 7 21:36:24 MST 1996

I've been a Monkees fan since about '89 when I was 10yrs. old and watched them on Nickelodean. My first crush was Davy Jone (of course) and all I remembered about the show was that Davy was really cute, they were chased by girls, and my dad bought me a tape. So this summer I dug out my old tape and went on line to discover the Monkee HOme Page (its really awesome) I bought the Listen To the Band box set and absolutely love it. I along with my friend have collected all of the 8 shows that are out. My favorite Monkee is Davy of course (he was my first crush) but I really love Micky. My goal in life is to meet Davy and Micky. I have Micky's bio on backorder and I am anticipating the release of Just Us and Hey Hey We are the Monkees I went to the 30th Anniversary tour and it was Awesome. Micky was a trip and Davy is still cute Davy (he was really funny) and Peter was full of him self (he was cute though). It would have been really groovy if Mike was there I missed him (expecially when they tried to sing LIsten to the Band)only Mike can sing Mike songs. They better tour over here again for Just Us There's alot of people around who didn't get to see them who wanted to. Well here's me from the nickolodean rerun generation who grew up with the best band in the world signing off.Signed on: Sun Sep 8 07:03:02 MST 1996

The Monkees still hold that magical spell over me, long after the Beatles and Badfinger have become old hat. It is a great privilege to be associated with the Monkees through my job at the Carvin Corporation. Many thanks to Ward Sylvester, Maggie/Monkee Business and all the cool fans who have called me at work and chatted about the Monkees with me! Mike, glad to see you working with them again - hope to see lots of you in the coming months!Signed on: Sun Sep 8 10:02:02 MST 1996

The Monkees 30th Anniversary Tour was great. I sat, actually stood, in the fifth row. Ten years ago on their 20th tour, I was about 160 rows from the front. It was truly a dream come true. They put on an awesome show. I am anxiously awaiting the release of their new album.Signed on: Sun Sep 8 18:43:16 MST 1996

Hi, all!! It's cool to see a guestbook on this page.... and such a wonderful Monkees page altogether!! Congratulations, Brad, for putting together one of the best pages on the Web. I'm a HUGE Monkees fan... have been since about 1988, I guess. When they first started doing all the reunion stuff in '86 I just wasn't into them, but as time went on they just sorta pulled me in, I guess!! I've seen them 3 times since then, twice in Elkhorn, Wisconsin in 1989 and once just this year in Kansas City, Missouri. Plus, I've seen Micky solo once in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (I forget what year... perhaps 1992?) and Davy once at Summerfest in Milwaukee also. I attended the Monkees convention in 1990 in Chicago and met so many WONDERFUL people... I really hadn't realized until that moment how far the Monkees' appeal had spread, and how many people were still fans and how many new fans they had attracted. When I had the privilege of meeting Micky at his solo show, he was so down to earth and talkative... he didn't seem like a celebrity in the least. Just a very normal guy who has some amazing talents. :) I'm hoping to see Mr. Nez play someday... after that, my life will be complete. :) HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY, GUYS!! WE STILL LOVE YOU!!! Peace and Love, Elizabeth Cruver (who may also be found as Nunette on irc... when I have the time to get on.)Signed on: Sun Sep 8 20:28:39 MST 1996
Hi fellow Monkee Lovers! I've been a Monkee fan since 1966, but am enjoying them more now than before. I just saw them in July in Cincinnati for the first time ever live and it was so great!!! They sounded as great as I remember them from their albums (which I have lost over the years), and it's Monkeemania all over again!!! Their songs were so good, and it was great hearing them again. I'm now trying to gradually collect my favorite Monkee albums so I can continue those great feelings. I love them all, but since I just read Micky's autobiography, I have to say he tugs at my heartstrings a litle bit more. Bye for now!Signed on: Sun Sep 8 20:46:57 MST 1996
Yep! It's AbideinHim again. Waiting "im"patiently for someone to reply to my messages about bringing the Monkees to West Texas. I guess I'll have to make this journey alone, but wait...I guess Chanda,(who's from Lubbock), will walk along with me. Hi Chanda!! COME ON GUYS AND GALS!! Work with me people! I'm a head strong person... Well, thanks once again. I would like to get someone's attention about this. Someone who knows them. Eh? Always a Monkeemaniac, AbideinHimSigned on: Sun Sep 8 20:53:00 MST 1996

I am eighteen years old and I am a HUGE Monkees fan . My sisters and I were visiting my Grandmother in Texas one summer in 1988 when we saw the Monkees on televsion for the first time back when Nickelodeon ran their re-runs . We immedeiately started laughing our heads off and when my grandmother found out what we were laughing at she taped eight and a half straight hours of the Monkees for us to take home with us since we didn't have cable . Since then , our l for the Monkees has only grown . My sisters and I come from an acting family(both parents were/are professional stage actors)and we were thrilled when a close friend of ours won the lead role in OLIVER at a professional theater in New Jersey and infromed us that he would be performing along side Davy Jones who would perform the role of "Fagin" . My mother saw Davy perform the role of "The Artful Dodger" which he originated . I think the Monkees sound just as good today as they did in the 60's and I think they are all still the three (I haven't seen Mike lately) best looking guys around ! Davy and Mickey have my vote sexiest men alive , PEOPLE !! RachaelSigned on: Mon Sep 9 00:12:52 MST 1996

I celebrated my 40th birthday this year at the Monkees Memphis concert! I'm a life-long fan, still weak-in-the-knees for Davy. Only now, I have two partners in lust--my 2-year-old and 5-year-old daughters! The youngest knows the words to many Monkees songs and loves to sing and dance to "She Hangs Out." The eldest has a poster of Davy on her bedroom wall. (I'd like to, but my husband wouldn't understand.) I was lucky enough to meet Davy on the 30th anniversary tour (my 30th birthday!), and he was so gracious (and handsome). I will always love the Monkees in a special way--they were a comfort and inspiration throughout my childhood/teen years. It's thrilling to still be able to enjoy the old tv shows and music while appreciating their own growth and development as musicians today. Thanks for everything, guys, and thanks for a great Web page!Signed on: Mon Sep 9 06:48:26 MST 1996

On my 10th birthday, July 1967, I rec'd the first Monkee album, and have been hooked ever since. I have most if not all of their albums, the first 6 being originals, some in MONO, the rest reissues. I grew up feeling they were as good as the Beatles, just not as legendary(although they are becoming legends in their own rite). In my book, MONKEES RULE. I did see a concert of their '86 tour, but their not in our area for the latest one(dammitall!). Particularly enjoyed their guest appearance in Boy Meets World tv show. Age is doing you guys justice. This page is very informative and an asset to all monkeedom! This was the first tour I've missed since 86. I wish the guys would have made the trek to the south...oh well! At least I can be pacified with a new studio album w/ all four guys! to the curious... Nez is the coolest The Devil & Peter Tork is my fave ep Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones, Ltd. is by far the best LP As We Go Along (from Head) is the best song Mike has the best solo albums (particularly Tantamount to Treason) You folks probably have your own picks.... I just think mine are...better.Signed on: Mon Sep 9 20:08:25 MST 1996
The Monkees introduced me to rock music when I was 9 ('66). I waited 30 years to see Davy Jones in concert and finally got my chance this summer in Va. Beach. The show was great and I was surprised at how well I remembered some of the lesser played songs. Wish I still had all the old albums but do have a boxed set (Listen to the Band). This is a great site and I enjoy keeping up with the fans as well as the guys. My daughters (14 & 11) are huge fans, too.Signed on: Mon Sep 9 20:30:55 MST 1996
I have been a Monkees fan all the way back to 1967. I can still smell the banana flavored gum that came in the Monkees trading cards. I still have Pisces,Aquaruis, Capricorn & Jones and Headquarters on reel to reel tape in the original box. Anybody remember when you could order albums reel to reel ? I saw the Monkees 6 times in 1986 including the concert at the Greek theatre with Papa Nes. That was hair raising ! I saw the tour twice this year and thought it was great. My favorite Monkees episode is The Frodis Caper. My favorite Monkees songs are Early Morning Blues and Greens & You just may be the one.Signed on: Mon Sep 9 21:46:42 MST 1996
Saw the concert at Valley Forge Music Fair with my wife and my daughters, ages 7 and 9. The two girls have been Monkee fans since I introduced them to the group in the womb. They loved Peter and the way he interacted with the crowd, were bemused by the women screaming out Davy's name and Micky's voice. Have been a Monkee fan since that wonderful September Monday night at 7:30 on NBC. Because of them I started to play guitar and write music. They have made my life more full because of their music. Shades Of Gray is my all time favorite song and is so deep that I wish my students would listen to it get the meaning of it. It is truly an allegory for life. We also happened to meet Micky at his exhibition in Wayne Pa. He talked to my nine year old. (It was her birthday and she told him that and he said, "That's cool. I remember when I was nine." She couldn't comprehend Micky or any adult ever being nine. But it was the best birthday present she could have gotten. I can't wait for the new album to come outSigned on: Tue Sep 10 07:26:30 MST 1996

Hi! 2 all! I have been a Monkees fan probably since I was 2yrs. old. I was born on May 22, 1970- Have heard their music since then. I've watched their shows while growing up- over & over again. I had an old Monkees album that meant 2 the world 2 me- but once (when I was about 12) my brother broke it 2 spite me- He knew how much I loved it- Loved them! I told my dad that i would 1 day marry Davy Jones- so I guess I'd have 2 say he was my favorite member (although I like them all!). My father would just say- Davy will be old by that time w/ no hair, teeth, etc.. Well, Davy if your out there- U still look AWESOME 2 me! Sorry @ write a book! BYE all!Signed on: Tue Sep 10 10:13:36 MST 1996

I AM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR NEW AND RARE STUFF FROM AND BY THE MONKEES I DON'T HAVE SO IF ANYBODY KNOWS WHERE I CAN GET SOME IT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. MY FAVORITE MONKEES WOULD HAVE TO BE A TIE BETWEEN MIKE AND MICKY THOUGH PETER IS VERY CLOSE BEHIND. My uncle got me hooked on the Monkees in the early seventies. I was born in 1967. He gave me all his original Monkee discs. Including Daydream Believer with Going Down on the B-side. It's cool. Anyway I had tickets 10 years ago to see the Monkees in Lowell ,Mass and they had to cancel due to the weather. It was an outdoor show. Any way I finally saw them in July at the Hampton Beach Casino in Hampton, NH. It was a very fun show and my wife got to the front of the stage and shook Davey's, Peter's and Mickey's hand. She was crying and all hysterical. It was a good night. Hoping to see them again before they finsh this your. Any word on the release date of "Just Us"?Signed on: Tue Sep 10 18:09:17 MST 1996
Hello, I have been a Monkee fan for 30 years. It has always been a fantasy of mine to meet them in person and it almost came true this past August when I sat in the second row at their concert in Merrillville, IN. Peter has the most fantastic eye contact with his audience. It seems as if he is performing for you only. I Love you Peter! I hope to get seats as good as those in Chicago in November. The most fantastic moment in my life was touching Peter's hand at the end of the concert! I will cherish that moment for as long as I live. I have not had an easy life, but through it all I had my Monkee collection. I love you all, Chanda BraySigned on: Tue Sep 10 19:11:12 MST 1996

I met Micky at his art show... Seemingly mild mannered; fun, yet formal. Perhaps it was the setting. I gave him a copy of that "Micky is Dead" rumor. He gave me a little run down on Just Us: There will be 5 songs written by him and two from each of the other Monkees, 11 songs. Looking forward to it!Signed on: Thu Sep 12 05:12:56 MST 1996

I Love THE MONKEES!! I was first introduced to them when they were showing the reruns on Mtv several yeras ago and I've been hooked since. I happened to be in Las Vegas in June for their one night appearance @ the HIlton and the show was GREAT!! It was an added bonus to get to see them LIVE while in Vegas!! Despite Davy broken leg, the show was the best I've seen from them far!! I'm also thrilled to see the videos in re-release so now I can watch and enjoy them all over again!!Signed on: Thu Sep 12 15:32:43 MST 1996
I work for 93-5 KHY in Lafayette, Indiana. I recently saw the tour in Merrillville, Indiana. I was pleasantly surprised to see them do so many Nesmith tunes. A couple years before that when just Mickey and Davy were on tour they stayed after the show in Merrillville to sign autographs. I mentioned to Mickey how much I enjoyed his live version of Sometime in the Morning. I was expecting it on this latest tour, but was loaded up with Circle Sky, Papa Gene's Blues, and For Pete's Sake. All was cool!!! I have a band here called the Standards. If anyone out there wants a copy of our forthcoming tape, drop me an E-mail!!! The new cd is coming October 15th and I'm thinking of taking off work just to listen to it! My dream would be to record for Nesmith's record label (check out the Hellecasters cd on that label...it rules!!!). And then Mike hears one of my songs and says, "Hey, can I record one of these for MY next cd???" Dream big!!! You never know...Peace.Signed on: Thu Sep 12 16:09:36 MST 1996
Hi! I have been a Monkee fan since 1966 (I was 8 years old and in love with Davy Jones). My dream was to see the Monkees live and I have (4x). I ran into Mickey in an elevator at the Holiday Star Theatre in Merrillville, IN and met Davy at the Shubert Theatre in Chicago. I am looking forward to seeing them again in November!!! Also, the concerts this year have been excellent, especially in Milwaukee. Gary Strobl, it was nice to meet you in Merrillville, thanks for all the information you sent me. I hope to see you soon!Signed on: Thu Sep 12 17:00:33 MST 1996
Hello again, Happy anniversary! The Monkees were the featured performers on radio station WJMK 104.3 Chicago all day. It was wonderful to listen to! Wow! What a GREAT Monkees home page! I became a Monkee fan 10 years ago, and I still can't get enough! I still have every piece of monkee stuff I ever collected. I used to go to sleep every nite listening to the movie "HEAD" I still know every word of the movie!!I saw them in July of '87 in concert and looking forward to seeing them again. I remember when Nick had the contest to meet the Monkees and I sent in about 150 entries! I cried for days when I didn't win!! Favorite Monkee: Mickey rules! Favorite song: Goin' down!! Favorite episode: All of them, especially the Paris one! Favorite album: Live 1967, I just love "Steppin' Stone" awesome!! Keep up the good work, guys, you'll always have my love! If anyone knows of a Ga tour date, please let me know!Signed on: Thu Sep 12 21:16:01 MST 1996
Hello fellow Monkee fans (and you know who you are). Yes, to be sure, they have been a "closet obsession" for many of us --- we who have people in our lives that still consider them NOT a REAL BAND. Silly peasants! Knaves! Just because they were brought together during a cattle call doesn't make them any less talented. But I digress.. I am a first generation Monkee fan. I was 10 years old when "The Monkees" premiered in 1966. That show would make a major impact on me, influencing my future career direction into video production (writing, producing and directing), as well as doing voice-overs for books-on-tape. For a girl, I haven't done too bad (I know, I know --- quite a sexist comment coming from a woman --- so sue me!!!). LOL!!!! I have seen them in-person four times --- but never all four together at one time (that would be a treat!). I have never met them. I practically brushed shoulders with Davy (well, maybe not shoulders - as I'm 5'10") at an oldies concert this past summer --- but decided against the "standing in line" thing in order to meet him. Probably a snobby attitude to take --- but in this business I've met a lot of celebs, and I couldn't envision myself as just another drooling face amidst a sea of nameless souls. When (and if) I ever have the privilege of meeting these guys, it'll be under much different circumstances (maybe they'll need a Producer for a video --- ah, sweet dreams...). As I live not too far from Coco Dolenz (Micky's sister), I almost had the opportunity to do an audio book with her. Unfortunately, other committments prevented her from performing on the project. She is also an excellent performer (and one helluva singing voice too!!!). So much for my limited exposure to "The Monkees". I couldn't pick one out from the other in terms of favorite now, but when I was younger, I'd bounce between Davy and Mickey (like every other girl on the planet, right?). I love all the songs --- but one stands out for me for some reason. This haunting mel ody has tugged at my heart from the moment I first heard it ---"While I Cry". Well folks, that's it for now --- except to say that's it's great to find other kindred spirits in the space we've come to know as "cyber". And yes --- I did have a "Monkeemobile" model that I assembled (heaven knows where it is now), as well as "Monkee" trading cards (and I DO know where they are!). Take care all!!! Cheers... Hi! I'm Amanda. I'm 21 and I just saw the guys in concert in my town a few weeks a go! They were sooooooo great!!!! It was wonderful to see all of their fans out there in the valley! I just Missed getting Mickey's autograph... :( Istarted liking them in the 5th grade... This is such a cool way to get info and hear everyone's stories!Signed on: Fri Sep 13 07:28:35 MST 1996

Hello Fellow Fans, I can't say that I've watched the Monkees since '66 since I wasn't even born yet but I've watched all of the reruns since the '70's and have all of their CD's even though some of my college friends use to think I was nuts. I can't wait to see them in concert.Signed on: Fri Sep 13 10:47:08 MST 1996
I have been a Monkees fan since I caught reruns in the early '70's. Davy has always been my favorite! I saw them in Richmond in '86, and again this summer in Fairfax. I have now begun a 2nd generation of fan, my 22 month old daughter, Madison. She loves to sing 'Mary, Mary', and makes me play it constantly. This drives my husband nuts. He just doesn't understand! She and I watch the newly released videos and she says, "Davy's cute!", with just a little prompting from Mom! Now I need help!!! I have been unable to get my hot little hands on copies of Davy's and Micky's books. They seem to be out of print. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I'm getting desperate! Help, please!!!!!Signed on: Fri Sep 13 12:18:02 MST 1996
The Monkees are the most ingenious band ever to sweep the American Coast. Mickey Dolonz was a pure genius, the heartbeat behind the band mostly credited to Davey Jones. The first time I saw them sing, I thought to myself, I'm a believer. If anyone out there agrees with me, please send email to madst71@pitt.edu. Remember, other bands may come and go, but the Monkees are forever!!!!!Signed on: Fri Sep 13 13:00:24 MST 1996
Hello all, You may know me as that freak who won't stop leaving messages on Peter's guest book, well now I'm here! I love Peter Tork so much! I guess all of this insane madness started when I was in 6th grade, my friend adn I were searching through my mom and dad's old records, when we came across "The Monkess". Immediately I was drawn to Peter, my friend was into Davy seeing as how she is short and likes his accent. It got kind of old, so I put it away till the end of 7th grade. It was official I was obssesed, I bought all the CD's Peter was on, and talked about him non stop. Now I'm in 9th grade, and it hasn't stopped! I have realized I need help! WE need a support group for 14 year olds obsessed with Peter! Something has to be done! In all seriousness, this is one of the best pages I have ever been to. I love it, can't get enough. Before I go I just wanted to say that at the Cincinnati concert Peter told me he loved me!Signed on: Fri Sep 13 14:11:45 MST 1996
I just had to come back and say Peter is a HOTTIE, I love him. I hope that someday we will meet! And I wonder if he really reads all of the letters I write him, I write him every Thursday. I'm guess he has to, cause he sent me a picture, what a sweetySigned on: Fri Sep 13 14:27:32 MST 1996
Settle down Katie!! I remember when I was you age, and in love with the Monkees. Peter definitely is the sweetest man on earth ("kind soul that he is") I've heard he's single - just give yourself about 20 years, actually you probably only need 10 years. (I've seen bigger age differences) Maybe "When love comes knockin' at your door" Pete will say "Come on In" **Sorry for the cheesy references everybody** It could happen!! Good luck!! Just don't stalk the poor man!!Signed on: Fri Sep 13 15:08:33 MST 1996
I'm sorry to say that the possible concert of the Monkees here in Lubbock will not take place because the station, 98 Kool refuses to put their name behind it. Apparently, Lubbock has a really bad reputation for low ticket sales and so the "big name" performers will not come here. We only get the trashy musicians and no names to come. But when we do get a "big name" then the sponsoring station has to promote the concert a month or two in advance. If there are any changes concerning this matter, I will post another message about it. Thank you to those who have responded to my messages and to those who e-mailed 98 Kool. Thanks. The Monkees have always been a major part of my life, so it's great to see so many other people out there like me. My students (yes, I teach high schoolers) are hilarious -- when asked to name the Monkees, one of them said, "Ringo." Ah, well. My favorite Monkee is Peter -- I always root for the one less lauded by the masses. I also respect him and admire his songwriting talent. Favorite song "Shades of Gray". Favorite dream - singing with the Monkees one day & of course, meeting Peter. One day with him would be heaven to this fan!Signed on: Fri Sep 13 17:17:21 MST 1996

For those of us who have been there since the beginning, we know. For those who have awakened since the beginning, you also know. THANK YOU !!! to Micky, Davy, Peter, and Mike for the great music and the wonderful memories The 30th year tour show in Beverly, Mass. was GREAT..Thank you, Davy, for signing my wife's book. Finally, I'm a first generation something! Yes, I was there, at the beginning. I think I was about 9 or 10 -- and my first clue that I was on to something hot, was when my mother refused to let me watch the show. "You'll not watch those damn Hippies in my house!" I believe is what she said. No worries - I had friends with TVs! And that is how it all began. Fave Monkee? Ummm... *Everybody* says Davey, and I agree, he is handsome.. sexy... and has aged VERY well.... But I have to say that the simple, sweet innocence of Peter's has its appeal! Thanks for having this place! Now I know I'm not alone in the world! And I can say with pride, "Hi! My name is Patti and I am a Monkees Fan...." Fave Monkee: All of them (all great--too hard too choose) Fave Episode: All of them (same as above --too hard to choose) Fave Song: Anything anyone of them has done (not a whole lot of clunkers in what they've done) Fave Memory: Went to concert in Cincinnati in 96. Loved how Peter and Davy flirted with the crowd, but Micky seemed a bit stiff. Great show -- but I did miss Mike. Hey Mike, where are you?Signed on: Sat Sep 14 09:29:32 MST 1996
Back Again--just couldn't get enought of this Hey Guys (if any of you catch this) is there any chance (please let it be so) that we will get to see all four of you on the big (or even the little) screen again. Frankly, theres nothing interesting to watch anymore and I think that I've worn out my videos. I'm dying to see something new (and probably so is everyone else). Ok, so I'm bored and I don't have a life outside of work and my Monkess habit (for which, just like the common cold, there is no cure; you can only take care of it with a daily application of music and/or videos). Please, anything will do. We just need something new.Signed on: Sat Sep 14 10:12:08 MST 1996

Well, I suppose I'm probably the youngest person who has left their message on the guest page but hey... I've been a Monkees fan since 1988. I first saw the show when my family was getting a free preview from the cable company and every afternoon, Nickelodeon would have a full hour of The Monkees. Ever since, I've been a big fan. This summer when some of the episodes were released on account of the 30th Anniversary I began to fall head over heels again. Now I'm only eighteen, but I just have to say that Mike Nesmith is one of the greatest musicians/songwriters I know of. Hey, Mike if you're reading this, "You're the greatest! You'll always have a place in my heart." To all of the other Monkee fans out there--keep the music alive!!Signed on: Sat Sep 14 12:03:04 MST 1996

Just so you all know, I am a huge Monkees fan. I am a freshmen in college this year and I have the Monkees logo poster in my dorm room and 2 other pictures of all four! Ever since I found out that they were on tour again I have, gone to their concert (and LOVED it!), bought 5 of their episodes, and have gotten Davey's address. I am an 18 w/f and have loved them ever since I saw their TV show on Nickelodeon. My favorite is Davey. I like all of them, but Davey is #1 in my book. When I went to their concert in Memphis he touched my hand and I have been in love with him ever since!!! I also saw them on the Miss Teen Pagent and loved it! Hey, Hey with the Monkees!!!! :) P.S.- If any of the Monkees see this, I think yall are great and I can't wait to get "Justus"!!!!!Signed on: Sat Sep 14 12:40:48 MST 1996

Hello, I would just like to say that in all seriousness, Peter Tork is the best stage peformer I have ever seen in all 14 years of my existance on this out of control planet. He stands up on the stage, and looks into your eyes. He picks you out, he flirts with you for those breif seconds he's there only for you. He is such a sweet heart, at the Cincinnati concert he looked into a 14 year old girls eyes, and after hearing and seeing her wave and yell, "I Love you Peter!" he said "I Love you too." That is something I could never ever forget, I've been in love with this kind, gentle, beautiful HOTTIE of a man for years, and he took the time to look into my eyes and say he loves me. Most people would care about their break coming up soon, but not Peter, he cares about that moment, and becasue he does he gave a little girl who wasn't feeling the best about herself at the time love. He gave me just a few seconds, but in my mind I turn it into an eternity. He loves me!Signed on: Sat Sep 14 14:04:33 MST 1996

You might remember that Chanda and I are trying to bring the Monkees here to Lubbock. And you might also remember that the radio station, 98 Kool backed out and refused to put their name behind the concert. Well, I just wanted the station to know that we, the Monkees fans, are very disappointed in the station. I would like for the fans from the states of Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Kansas to e-mail them and protest their decision. The e-mail address is Dee@98Kool.com. Their telephone number is (806) 770-5665 and their fax is (806) 763-5922. We can get them from all angles. The manager who backed out is Lew Dee. He's not too interested in what the fans want but just in the money. I don't think he realizes just how many fans live in this area but he needs to find out. SO PLEASE E-MAIL HIM AND TELL HIM!! Even if you don't live in this area, still write him and swamp him with complaints and I think that he will get the picture. Let him know that you still would like for him to bring the Monkees to the South Plains. I still haven't given up on this idea. I've worked too hard to give up so easily. One more thing before I go, if Susan, Carrie, or Chanda reads this message, please e-mail me because I need to talk with you. You know who you are because you're involved with this crusade as well. Thanks everybody! The radio station needs to also know that just because they think it's a lost call doesn't mean that it is! Monkees forever, NeaSigned on: Mon Sep 16 07:41:29 MST 1996
Hi people! I've been a fan since the tender age of 10 when I watched the show on Nickelodeon for the first time. I'm now a whopping 20 years and 6 months, and still a fan. I just got to see the guys together this year for the first time(once in Hershey, once in Wilkes-Barre), but have been going to their solo concerts for years. I'm a bit partial to Micky (what a BABE!), but love all the guys. Each accounts for a large dent in my purse! JennSigned on: Mon Sep 16 11:59:55 MST 1996

I met The Monkees (all but Peter..sigh!) April 13th 1969 at Bush Field Airport, Augusta Ga. I was 14. Later that day, I went to the concert, where "Listen to the Band" was debuted. hi there, my name is Mary. I am 21 years old and have been a Monkees fan since 1986. This summer I was only able to see them in concert twice...so far! However, I had seen the three of them together once before, Micky and Davy once before, and Davy solo about five or six times. Each time it only gets better! My favorite Monkee is Davy, followed by Peter and Mike. I would just kill to see either one of them do a solo show Unfortunately, they never quite make it anywhere near my town! Growing up, we slobbered all over the TV screenevery nite. All of us fought over Davy. I, too, believed that if we played their albums enough, the Monkees would come visit me ("Just look over your shoulder, guess who'll be standin' there!" - I always glanced over my shoulder!) Got to see them for my little BROTHER's b-day (he hated them, but was happy 'cause Weird Al opened) in '86 or '87? I was amazed 'cause there was no TV screen separating me from my idols. About 7 years later, clear out of the blue, I got an itching to see the movie Head, 'cause I LOVED it as a kid. We called all the video stores ("No, it's NOT an 'adult' movie!"), and finally found it. I'm not sure how I understood it perfectly at the age of 7, 'cause I'm clueless now. Well, next thing I knew, I started hearing about the Rhino reissues - I flipped! Got all the reissues, as well as the Pool It! and Greatest Hits. Finally got to see them recently in concert - once a year ago in Columbus, OH (Davy and Micky - my new fav - he called me "Darlin'" and asked about a.m.m. 'cause I had on my a.m.m. sweatshirt! Davy sang a song about KY when he heard where I was from - all in all, quite the most memorable event!) Bad thing was when we were leaving - I broke down crying hysterically and caused a bit of a scene - so I'm emotional! These were my childhood idols, and I'd probably never meet them again! Saw the three guys this summer in Columbus again. They just won't come back to Louisville...I went bankrupt, but had a blast (by myself). Didn't get to meet 'em this time, but it was still fun. Everyone at my highschool (teachers included), my family, my friends, strangers, and the DJ at a local Top 40 radio station think I'm totally insane for my obsession over the Monkees. Well, okay, I'll agree. I'm just glad I've found a place where I'm just another crazy Monkee freak (though it is fun being considered the final word on any and all Monkee info! :) ) I'm anxiously awaiting the release of JustUs! I had a co-celebration of the 30th anniversary and my 17th b-day, and subjected my 'friends to the one episode I have on tape, and Head, and all their fabulous music! I was the only excited one, but we had fun! Sorry I'm so long-winded! Just smack me and tell me to shut up! Peace, Love, & Mickey Mouse! Your Daydream Believer, Laura!Signed on: Wed Sep 18 16:48:35 MST 1996

I have 17 tapes, 5 cds, 2 original 33's and 2 original 45's. My family thinks I'm nuts for collecting anything I can on The Monkees but I don't care. I believe that no other time in my life will be as thrilling as the concert on July 4th at SeaWorld when I finally got to see the Monkees after waiting since 1986. sure, to most people that's not long, to a 21 year old that's too long. I love them all and hope that I can get to see them again. Davy, Micky, Peter, you guys rock.Signed on: Thu Sep 19 18:41:55 MST 1996
Well, let's see what happens with this. You people are crazy! But, then again, aren't we all? I don't have anything witty to add to this mess, and I only scimmed most of the messages. Face it people, only those of us who enjoy listening to and about the monkees would even go this far. Yes, I have enjoyed the sound since the mid-70s. Question #!: Hey Nez--Why was "First National Rag" left off the 2CD set "Complete"? There's plenty of space, guy! And will "Rose City Chimes" ever see the light of day on CD format? Question#2--Does anyone out there actually OWN a copy of the rumored long version of "Silver Moon" on QUAD 8-track? I've read about it for years but have never seen a copy, let alone heard it. Question #3--Why is David so against putting his solo stuff out onto CD? Cassettes are passe. Get with the 90s. DVD will be here before you know it, then what's going to be the excuse? Question #4--Does anyone have a high quality copy of Peter singing "Lucille"? My bootleg is pretty poor, and it's a killer tune the way Peter does it. Peter: take the hint. Record the song (yeah, I know you didn't write it and someone else would get the royalities, but, hey, your version rocks.) Question #5--Who was that woman playing keyboard, sax, etc. on the current tour? Does she have any CDs, out? I thought, given the chance, she could have stole the show. She was one of the most talented individuals I've seen in years. I'd go to a concert just to watch her play. Anyone know her name?Signed on: Fri Sep 20 09:35:17 MST 1996

My name is John Harrison. I'm not a first generation Monkees fan, but I love 1960's pop/rock 'n' roll music. The Monkees are second only to The Beatles. I am a DJ for the San Antonio College campus radio station, KSYM, 90.1 FM. Every Saturday from 7 p.m. - 8 p.m. I host a one-hour Monkees spotlight show called "Monkee Business." It is a lot of fun. It features group and solo material from The Monkees, as well as soundbites from the show and interesting trivia about their music, as well. Check it out if you are ever in San Antonio. The listener line number for KSYM is (210) 733-2800. Our off ice number is (210) 733-2787. Thank you and good luck to The Monkees in the future. I can't wait to hear "Justus." Oh, by the way, Mike is my favorite Monkees. My favorite song of his is "The Crippled Lion." He is such an incredible writer. Keep up the good work on the Monkees Home Page. Remember: "The Porpoise is laughing, good-bye, good-bye."Signed on: Fri Sep 20 10:40:13 MST 1996

Vague recollections of watching the Monkees on TV in 1967. First album purchased at a garage sale in 1973. I saw the Monkees in Costa Mesa in early September 1986 and at their rained out 25 minute show in Edmonton on July 1 1996. Met Mickey Dolenz in Calgary in 1993. I always get a kick out of playing PAC & J and having friends being amaxed that it is a Monkees album.Signed on: Fri Sep 20 13:32:51 MST 1996

Mazepha ~~ Got your letter ~ thanks for the compliment on the Web Page!! Can I e-mail you back at the same address? Or would that be cause for further downsizing at your company? Thought for the day: Why did the word "liver" show up at the end of my last post?! (It's been bugging me since I saw it there a few minutes ago.) NOTE: My page will be updated this weekend -- MAJOR CHANGES HAPPENING -- (Guess who bought a scanner?!) Though, I won't be filling it up with HUGE amounts of graphics. All the pics will be on a seperate page. Keep in touch! Patti PS:: I suppose, since this is the Monkee's Web Page I should say some- thing about them... OK... Um... Ah.... Um..... Oh, I got it! Nez! Did you get my letter? Stay Well Y'all!! {{{*****}}} (Who am I kidding? He is NOT going to answer my mail. I can accept that...)Signed on: Fri Sep 20 21:01:26 MST 1996
Hi. Iremeber watching the Monkees show when I was 5 years old. My older sisters had crushes on Davey. I wanted to BE Davey. Well I am now 32 and I'm 6'4" tall. I guess I no longer fit the requirements. I am glad to see the albums re-issued tastefully by Rhino. They deserve it.Signed on: Sat Sep 21 09:57:59 MST 1996
The Monkees have been my favorite band since I was in eighth grade. This summer I was in Connecticut, and I missed their concer at "Foxwoods" by only a couple of days! "Daydream Believer" is probably my favorite song. I would recommend to all you fans out there, to read Davy Jones' book "They Made a Monkee Out of Me". It was pretty hard to find up here in Alaska. Hey, that reminds me- When are the Monkees gonna come up and play here? Our great state would give them one hell of a welcome!Signed on: Sat Sep 21 16:26:41 MST 1996
The Monkees were a splash of color and fun in my childhood. But I caught them in the '80s -- chagrined that I was born a generation too late to really have any hope of dating them! Still, their music and memories always bring a smile to me. Thanks Davy, Mickey, Mike and Peter for a job well-done. JenniferSigned on: Sat Sep 21 20:00:48 MST 1996

Well...I started loving the monkees when I was about 4 or 5. I was sorta late though, cause I watched in the late 80's! I hada long period of time go by before I started to love 'em again. I've been trying to get pictures of the goup that are good but I can't find any. Someone help me out!? My favorite monkee was Micky...now it's Davy, (of course!). I loved all of there episodes! And my favorite song is Daydream Believer. Another strange thing is that one of my older relatives was the president of the monkees fan club in the 60's. She got to talk to Mike on the phone and she wrote to Davy's sister in England, isn't that GrOoVy? I thought so! Now I'm gonna follow in her foot steps!Signed on: Sun Sep 22 05:35:46 MST 1996

Hey Katie -- Chill out girl! (Did we meet at the Cincinnati show?) Back out here again because...well, just because. Actually this is a message for Mike. Please come out of wherever you are hiding. And when are you going to finish Neftoon Zamora? It's driving me absoultely mad to read the same thing over and over again. And guys, please please please, can we see all four of you on the stage? Well, I have to go now cause my CD player just stopped and like I said before--the Monkees habit is just like the common cold; there is no cure, you can only keep it in check with a daily application of music and/or videos. So if you all will excuse me -- I goot go take my medicine.Signed on: Sun Sep 22 12:37:33 MST 1996

Aloha all!! I am a third generation Monkee fan and had the wonderful opportunity to see the Monkees twice this summer. They were both great shows and I had the chance to meet both Micky and Davy which was a great experience. I wish The Monkees nothing but good luck for the future and hope they'll come around again soon. Peace!!!!Signed on: Mon Sep 23 14:46:12 MST 1996
When I was 7, I carried a picture of Davy in my back pocket for months! I still have it, although the fold lines don't do much for his appearance...Signed on: Mon Sep 23 16:46:56 MST 1996
Here she comes, walking down the street..."feeling groo-vay"! Hi, this looks like it could be fun! My fave monkee is Micky, I have curly hair like his (I used to straighten it every day too!) and I do his facial expressions pretty well. My friend Lisa loves Davy (she's short..."I am standing up!")...it just became easier to be called "Micky" and "Davy"! My husband and I also have a Monkee connection...the night we met, he asked me what kind of music I liked. I said Monkees, and he said that he'd MET them (on tour in 1986 while they were in Miami at the tour drummer's house). He offered to tell me the story, but only if I danced with him...we got married two years later! One more story...while at the 1987 Pool It concert in Sacramento, the aforementioned Lisa developed a very low blood sugar (she's hypoglycemic) and she told me she needed some form of sugar NOW. We were in the middle of the pit and were squished, with nowhere to go. I passed the word around that we needed help - bubble gum, coke, etc. The fans were AWESOME. From all over, packages of Bubble Yum and small candies were sent hand over hand to us. One of the roadies perched in the corner of the stage saw the goings-on, and sent a paper cup of Coca-Cola down to the pit security, who gave it to us. If you were there, THANK YOU!!!!!!!! We had a fantastic time, and my nine-year-old sister who thought the Monkees were "OK" got to sit on a bunch of guys' shoulders the whole concert! Peace, Love, and The Monkees.....Debi "Micky" GoldSigned on: Mon Sep 23 17:12:42 MST 1996
Hi! My name Is Jessica Proulx and I have been a MAJOR fan since 1988. That's When I started my obsession with the monkees. I'm 19 and I think that they are the only band I'll ever listen to. I Saw Davy in 1994 in GREASE and I thought that he was great, I even got to shake his hand and I've never washed since then. I got to see them this summer in St Louise,MO at the RiverPort Ampitheater and they were fantastic. If any one knows where I can find Davy's new book please let me know. I can't wait to your guyses new album and to see your documentary. I forgot to mention that I have A poster on my door, and a box under my bed filled with monkees stuff and a lot of cd's ,cassettes(audio and video) of them too. I hope to hear from one of you guys soon Stay cool and great Jessie ProulxSigned on: Mon Sep 23 19:44:14 MST 1996
I remember seeing their "That was then, this is now" video on Nick Rocks (we didn't have MTV) and turning it off!!! I couldn't stand The Monkees! Then, I saw their TV show and after seeing a few episodes I was hooked no, make that obsessed! My best friend and I would light candles when their show came on, and when the cable company cancelled Nickelodeon, we both sobbed for days. Luckily, my dad had a satellite at his house so I could watch the show at his house. However, the obsession didn't end there. My friend and I both cut and dyed our hair so ours would look exactly like Davy's hair was in the 80's. We also wrote a poem about them and sent it to Tiger Beat magazine and they printed it! I've never met any of them, but after writing several letters, I did recieve a postcard from Davy and Peter. They both said "Thank you for caring" and had their autographs on them. I also saw one of their concerts back in 1987. Unfortunately, the only things I can remember are Peter singing "Auntie Grizelda" and Micky singing "Through the Looking Glass" in a dress. Anyway, it's been 10 years and even though I'm no longer "obsessed", I still enjoy watching their shows, listening to their music, and I cannot wait for their new album to come out.Signed on: Mon Sep 23 20:19:47 MST 1996

Oh no!! I didn't mean for my message to appear twice!!!! Oh well, I guess there is nothing I can do about it now. Later!Signed on: Mon Sep 23 20:27:40 MST 1996
Whoa! This is my first time doing this-a message virgin...Well, I have been a fan for longer than I can even remember-I am 27. Vaguely, I recall watching the show when I was 4 or 5, and my ever-thoughtful mom invested in the Laurie House compilation...when they stopped showing the program after school, the memories faded. In 1986, everything came back like a freaky deja vous. Admittedly, I became a tad obsessed-spending way too much $ and dragging friends to every concert I could (they didn't regret it).I went to the Teaneck convention and met some lasting friends. T'was an experience. Lots o' freaks. As my life rolled along my "obsession" dwindled. One of the coolest things, I must say, was my guitar teacher in college (Salve Regina) hooked me up with tix to see Peter play at this tiny place at URI, plus watching the sound check- unfortunetly, I had this most massive headache. I sat in the front-like 2 yards from Torksville. I swear, he must have thought I was on some kind of trip 'cause the pain was so bad, my eyes were like slits. Did I mention this was cool? Oh-he did the meet-and-greet thang and was very nice...I was so nervous, I couldn't explain. He was awsome at the Clean Water Festival last year and again, so freakin' nice and so freakin' genuine. Same thing goes for this year's show at the Clariage Casino ($$$$$$@#%)He totally pays attention to the audience...somebody sneezes-"God Bless", I bopped my head around like a goon, he mimicks me...so cool...By the way, Micky was my fave... He has changed, no doubt. Fave songs: Love is Only Sleeping, As We Go Along-other faves change like the tides. Would love to cover a Monkee song in my band, Afterglow. CANNOT wait for Justus. Love the trading cards- have extras. Can draw or paint anything monkees- I've done jackets, would like to do more. Do not like most of the merchandise, truely on the cheesy side (sorry, had higher expectations)-willing and able to design stuff, too. Feel footloose and fancy free to write to me at Pea Pod Productions, 524 Brighton #10, Spring Lake, NJ 07762Signed on: Mon Sep 23 23:01:52 MST 1996

MAZEPHA~~ Found your message -- finally! (Brad, can't you clean up some of these old messages?!) I'll hold off on calling ~ phone bill is up there this month! I won't e-mail unless I get an all clear from you... God, sounds like you work for the FBI or something! In answer to your question: >>HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS CURIOUS PHENOM(enom)?<< Well, for years, I tried to date only boys that were short and had English accents. But, being that I live in rural NY state... I was dateless for a long time. At some point, I decided only to date boys that were short. That didn't work out, either. I finally had to settle for dating only boys.... KEEP IN TOUCH, MAZE!! PattiSigned on: Tue Sep 24 14:08:28 MST 1996
Hi. I'm a 3rd generation fan. My favorite Monkee is Mike. My favorite album (out of the first 6, which are the only ones I have so far) is "Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn, and Jones Ltd." My favorite song is "The Door into Summer." I'm a lister on the mailing list. What else can I say? Bye.Signed on: Tue Sep 24 15:19:17 MST 1996
I have been a Monkees fan since the second grade when I used to watch reruns of the show on channel 44 in Largo, FL (Tampa Bay). I used to record the songs off of the show every afternoon because this was before they albums were being reissued. I knew the songs so well that it was weird to hear the songs without all of the sound effects from the show that occurred during the show. I have learned more about the Monkees as time goes by. I became a Beatles fan after I couldn't find any Monkee albums in the stores, circa 1977. So for me the, The Monkees preceeded the Beatles. After no success of finding any of the albums, my mom said, "You know Mark, there was a group called the Beatles that was a lot like the Monkees." The rest is history.Signed on: Tue Sep 24 18:48:12 MST 1996
I met them. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Are you jealous? I really like the Monkees, and I think that I will name my first child after one or all of them. Would that be a really long name? I know. I'm silly.Signed on: Wed Sep 25 10:16:10 MST 1996

I absolutely adore Micky! I love Davy, Peter and Mike too, but Micky is my fave! I have loved them since 1986. It would have been 1966, but I just wasn't born yet (sorry). On September 25, 1993 at the Westbury Music Fair on Long Island, I got to hold Davy's hand! He had the audience sing the "Brady Bunch Theme" and he came right out to me. I was so happy I didn't know what to do, so I held his hand for a few brief moments. Other than that, I haven't met them,, but I'm trying real hard. I've seen 5 Monkees concerts since 1987, and 3 Davy Jones concerts since 1992. I can't wait to see them again. Oh yeah, my nick name throughout high school was fuzzy because I had a perm that looked just like Micky's curly hair. I'm 22 years old and will love these guys forever. I have one question that may sound kind of stupid. Are Davy and Anita divorced? I keep hearing different things and don't know what to believe. I let my subscription to MBF run out and Maggie McMannus is the only source I really trust so far. Someone help me please to figure this out! Thanks, Lisa.Signed on: Wed Sep 25 14:52:37 MST 1996
I just saw something that turned my stomach! I just saw a picture of The New Monke(y)s. I refuse to spell them as the original and ONLY Monkees. As a matter of fact, my friend Katie and I refer to them as the Baboons. I thought they were gone forever. How can they even be mentioned in the same place as my wonderful men? I'm so upset. So far everything I've found with the Monkees has been great, but why is this insult to Micky, Davy, Peter and Mike allowed to be here? I feel so icky. I still love you guys. I may be second generation, but I'm a true fan.Signed on: Wed Sep 25 15:18:44 MST 1996
Hello again! Just thought I'd come by and say hi again. I think that Peter Tork is such a HOTTIE! I have managed to convert my 9 year old brother into a Monkee lover. He talks about them a lot, like me. Well I'm not to sure that this is very good for him, but that's okay there are worse things to be obssesed with. I had to write a paper on my role model for Health, guess who I wrote about. Yep, it was Peter. Think about it, this guy is a great role model. No one is perfect, but we can pretend. I'm going to Homecoming Saturday, Peter I'll dump my date for you if you want to go with me. Sometime around your birthday is the Sweethearts dance if you want to go. I love all of you and have much respect for everyone, KatieSigned on: Wed Sep 25 15:27:03 MST 1996

Hi-I'm the one who just left like the same message 4 times-Annoying? Sorry. It did not seem to be sent. Anyhoo, does anybody live near the Jersey Shore? My band is opening up for Jeffrey Gaines on Friday night,9/27/96. He did "Hero in Me" and covered Peter Gabriel's "Red Rain" , to name a few. My band, AFTERGLOW doesn't quite have any Monkee influences, besides the fact that I bug the guys with interesting Monkees trivia and news all of the time Actually, if you happen to like swirling female harmonies, interwoven acoust- ic and electric guitars, fretless bass (actually, the bass player loves Sqeeze and Squeeze loves the Monkees) (am I trying too hard?) congas and bongos, and did I mention the antique sleigh bells, toy piano, slide whistle....... ....the list goes on: and so do I! We are slowly working on our first Cd. Duh. I failed to mention that the gig is at the fabulously infamous, Stone Pony! A word to the wise, it does have it's history, but bring your own toilet paper, PLEASE! Thanks for your time-and if anyone out there chooses to attend, please do introduce yourself- I'm the female with the long blond hair. Maybe I'll do Peter Percival....Signed on: Wed Sep 25 21:27:56 MST 1996

I have been a fan of the Monkees since I was ten years old.I am twenty now so it has been half of my life.My favorite Monkees are Peter and Micky.I am now known as the bra girl after this year's concert.I threw it on stage at Peter He put it on his keyboard stand. Then I forgot that I no longer was wearing it and started jumping up and down.I don't think he can forget that. But it was well worth it. I got to meet him and he kissed me twice. (Well worth it) And the 16 year old boys in the row behind us probably will not forget it either!Anyways, I would like to hear from anybody who wants to write, but especially fans that are close in age to me.And if you were at the concert in Wallingford, Ct this past summer, I would like to hear from you as well.Signed on: Thu Sep 26 14:40:46 MST 1996

Confession: I used to have a collection of about 5 different posters that I painted and I would bring them to every concert (9 of 'em). I must have been annoying. I think one of them bashed the idea of the "new m.." (can't bring myself to say it). nightie nightSigned on: Thu Sep 26 20:44:13 MST 1996

I really enjoyed the show this past weekend at our annual rally in Los Angeles. Thanks for such a great performance! I was amazed that I was singing along with the songs that I had not even heard for years. Seeing the three of you on stage was "Totally Awesome." Hope to see you in Las Vegas! Take Care.Signed on: Fri Sep 27 01:10:33 MST 1996
I've been a Monkees fan since I was 9 years old and I gotta say that they rock. I think Peter was (and still is) the cutest, but as far as talent goes, I guess it's a tie between Mike and Micky. Mike would probably win, though. Anyway, I love the Monkees, I LOVE THE MONKEES, and I LOVE the Monkees. Can't wait to buy Justus. LONG LIVE THE "LONG-HAIRED WEIRDOS"!!!Signed on: Fri Sep 27 07:50:58 MST 1996
My God! Almost all of you have seen the Monkees in concert, if not met them in person! I've never seen them live. Came pretty close one time, though. I feel so deprived...Signed on: Fri Sep 27 08:04:50 MST 1996
HEY EVERYBODY! I wonder if anyone else is actually scrolling down far enough to see this. I hope so! WEll, I've been a fan for a couple of years now. (i was a late starter) I'm 22 and lived in the country where there was NO cable growing up. When I came to college I met a girl who was a huge fan and we became best friends! She introduced me to the TV show, Head, and everything else!! I'm so gald she did! My favorite MONKEE is Micky. Episode: Magic Locket. Song:(there are so many) Randy Scouse Git, Oh My My, Nine Times Blue(demo version on headquarters cd). We went to Cincinatti for my first concert this summer and we LOVED it so much we went to Columbus that same week( a 3 hr drive). Well, we still hadn't had enough so we made the 9 hour trek to North Carolina for the Raleigh concert (which was the best concert!!). The next day, we got to go to a "personal appearance" in a record store in charlotte and then saw micky in the bar of the hotel!!!! it was amazing. we were about to go home but the manager of the restaurant came and gave us free tickets to that night's concert! amazing! we wanted to go to chicago in november, but didn't call in time to get seats that were very good so now we're looking towards florida! thanks for the great web site that is keeping us hooked up to the concerts!! hopefully we'll meet some more great fans at the next concert!! :)Signed on: Fri Sep 27 08:32:09 MST 1996
The Monkees have held a special place in the hearts of my brother and I since I was about 6 or 7. Now, at age 33, I was so thrilled to hear that they were going to tour and stop by Milwaukee at Maritime Days on Sat. Aug. 31st. My brother, David , got a hold of a V.I.P. pass, which enabled us to get some nice pictures of Mickey, Davy and Peter before the show and during breaks. Our real break came when we saw them at their hotel. While Peter had eluded the lounge area and Davy took off, Mickey was still around. I was able to shake his hand while he was passing me in the hotel lobby and received a very sincere smile as well. However, I still had my camera and hoped for a picture. I had to work up my nerve to ask this tired performer for a picture with him, and say that we'd be honored if he would do so. Well, he did. My husband took a picture of Mickey with my brother on one side and me on the other. Thankfully, the picture turned out great so that I could have an 8x10 made for my brother and me. A very special "THANK YOU" to Mickey for being so gracious. We love you for being so kind and thank all of the Monkees for the wonderful memories that your music holds for us!Signed on: Fri Sep 27 10:44:01 MST 1996
YOU KNOW, I'VE ALWAYS WONDERED;WHAT DO THE GUYS DO WITH THE BRAS THAT GET TOSSED ON STAGE? DO THEY DONATE THEM TO CHARITY? HAVE THEM LAUNDERED AND WRAPPED AND PASS THEM OFF TO WIVES AND/OR GIRLFRIENDS AS "GIFTS"? PERHAPS THEY HAVE A "END OF TOUR CLEARANCE" AND AUCTION THEM OFF TO THE ROADCREW. OR MAYBE THEY'VE KEPT THEM ALL, EACH AND EVERY ONE FROM THE LAST 30 YEARS,HAD THEM BRONZED AND HANG THEM UP IN THE DEN AS PROUD TROPHIES. BUT YOU KNOW,MORE THAN LIKELY,THOSE FANCY SLINGSHOTS PROBABLY WIND UP BEING LEFT BEHIND,FORGOTTEN IN THE WINGS. WOULD ANY MONKEES STROLLING OR RATHER,SCROLLING ,THROUGH HERE CARE TO COMMENT?HMMM?Signed on: Fri Sep 27 11:13:42 MST 1996
I'm loving this message thing! This is one of my few computer skills(if you can even call is that). Anyway, I'm a nervous-nelly... gotta gig tonight. If I played out more often, I wouldn't be so weirded out. Think the Guys ever get butterflies anymore?Signed on: Fri Sep 27 13:33:18 MST 1996
Well, I didn't have anyone come up to me and say and say anything about my notice-oh well...the gig at the Stone Pony went really well. Our next gig is at the (Garden State-was called) PNC Bank Arts Center next Saturday, October 5 about 1:30. It's a festival-an AIDS benefit- and very worthwhile. There's food, and other stuff, too. Another band I know will be there is the Corrs. They are from Ireland and they do this song called "(I Will)Runaway". 3 gorgeous sisters and a brother, who's not so bad either. Anyway, anyone looking foward for JustUs? MEMEMEMEMEMEMEMESigned on: Fri Sep 27 23:30:20 MST 1996
The Monkees are so totally cool. They are complete well rounded performers which makes the music that much more entertaining and the shows that much more fun to watch. They consistently come out with creative, innovative music. I can't wait for the Justus album. Oh yea, I think Mike is the best Monkee (though they are all great).Signed on: Sat Sep 28 01:34:48 MST 1996

Dear all, I'm writing this mail for my wife Mikako. She has been mad about the Monkees since she was a students of junior hi school. When I was a recording engineer at certain record label, I had a chance to join Daby's Live recording in Japan. Mikako hates the computer culture so my job changing to Apple Computer made her XXX. But tonight, we found this home page! Mikako is reform herself that she has to begin to learn how to step into Internet world.Signed on: Sun Sep 29 08:30:51 MST 1996
I am so glad to see that there are so many Monkee fans like me. I have been a fan for a long time. In fact, I was made fun at school because I liked the Monkees. I have almost all the original albums, magazines (both old and new) and some original trading cards. I was lucky enough to see them twice in 1986 and I am hoping to see them again soon. Never been lucky enough to see them up close.Signed on: Sun Sep 29 10:33:44 MST 1996

How-DEE! Bummed about the news that the Disney Special on the Guys is postponed until January! Stinko. Plus they're shaving it down from 120 min down to 70 min. That's 50 glorious minutes gone- don't you think they could maybe show 70, then sell a video of 2 hrs. & more to people who have to see it, like you and me? Hi there.. I have loved the Monkees since I was 7 years old... I got to see DJB&H concert on My 7th birthday.. since then I have been hooked.. well I did try and climb the fire escape to get closer.. =) I was lucky enough to have seen the guys in concert 11 times this summer, and it was the time of my life.. I met so many great people.. its nice to feel like you belong to something so much fun... I think the most memorible time for me, was being able to attend a sound check before a show, and watching how Peter, Micky & Davy worked out a song to add to the show from beginning to end.... it was very special to watch this and I know the others who were with me, know exactily what I mean... It sent chills up my spine.. and brought a tear to my eye... had to have been one of the best days of my life (YET!) Funny, people ask me why do I like the Monkees.....well after much thought I have come up with the answer..... its cause The Monkees are a part of me.. yea, sounds a bit corney.. but hey... Its the one thing in my life that has never failed me, its always there... when ever I need it.. a silly TV show, some music, and 4 people...I know The Monkees will always be a part of who I am.. and I am DAMNED PROUD OF IT! Love and Peace Robin "Pickles" Roback PS.. did I mention Peter is my Favorite?! Talk about meltdown.. =)Signed on: Sun Sep 29 18:33:23 MST 1996
I first saw the Monkees on Nickelodeon when I was about 11 yrs old, which was around 1987. I was really disappointed when they took them off the air. Right now I am in the process of collecting their T.V. shows on videocassette. I finally got the chance to see them in concert at Sea World in San Antonio Texas, and I had front row seats. I have never had a more perfect day.Signed on: Mon Sep 30 06:14:05 MST 1996

Hey, petunias! What's the skinny on the length of this list? Anyway, here's a memory that caused me to have about a 3-day long natural high. Way back 10 years ago, I was a bit more aggressive (or obnoxious) when I was a Monkees concert goer. At one of the Garden State Art Center Shows, NJ, I brought all kinds of crap to get attention from the Guys- posters, a plush toy monkee, a bouquet of fresh flowers, little mini flash- lights that you squeeze on, etc. So, I was about 7 rows from the stage and I'm chucking stuff up there (I've got a good arm, so I wasn't going to peg them in the head... well, I put all of my aim into this one throw to Micky during, "I'm a Believer" he caught the flowers and sang half of the song to me...the feeling only subsided momentarily when the security guy gave me one last warning. Yes, inmaturity paid off for a couple of minutes..... Lonestranger0Signed on: Mon Sep 30 13:53:09 MST 1996

Hi everyone! I've been a Monkee fan since 1966 when I was ten years old! Never got to see them in concert then. But got to their 20th anniversary tour,(nine months pregnant at the time!) Well, now that baby is ten years old and we took her to the 30th anniversary tour in LA in June. She is hooked on the Monkees now! We even ordered all the Monkee tapes from Columbia Video. She watches them over and over and over....Her favorite Monkee? Mickey Dolenz.Who, by the way was my favorite when I was ten. He looked great at the concert last June! He's still got it! Davy and Peter do too! (Her two younger brothers like them too) My five year old walks around singing Monkee songs all the time! I was wondering if anyone here knows where I can write (or email) for an autographed picture of all the Monkees, or at least Mickey? It would be the highlight of my daughter's life to recieve something like that. It would also be a perfect Christmas present for her. If you have any info. *please* email me! at: PatT246@aol.com or at; cpwilkins@worldnet.att.net Thank you so much! I would really appreciate it!! PattiSigned on: Mon Sep 30 22:22:49 MST 1996

I left a message once before, publicising my Monkees radio show on KSYM, 90.1 FM in San Antonio. It is on Saturday nights from 7 - 8 p.m. I wanted to get other Monkees fans opinions on an idea I have for the show. In the past, our local classic rock station has done an A-Z week, playing all their cataloged songs in alphabetical order. I have alphabatized all of the Monkees songs, except for JustUs, and was considering doing the same on my radio show, "Monkee Business." I was thinking of continuing it every other week, so certain listners would not get burned out on the concept. Do you think the idea would work? Please let me know what you think. Thank you! READ!!! I've been a Monkees fan since I was about 11 years old. My favorite song has always been Davy singing "I wanna be free". Now that I am 33 years old I have only recently gotten to see them in concert. They came to Tulsa a couple of months ago and I had a front row seat for the whole show!!!! I fulfilled my life long dream of handing Davy a rose and telling him Thanks for singing "I wanna be free"! It was such an exciting experience! Of course listening to the music played live was just the best! I was dissapointed that I didn't have a after show pass to visit with them after the show. A lot of people there did though! I would have loved to have just said Thanks for all the great music and all the special moments they shared with me through the music. My biggest delimma concerning the monkees was how to decide on a favorite. All four have such distinct personalities that appeal to me that I never could make up my mind! I hope that they keep touring and that I will be able to see them again. I've joined a fan club through an ad I found in the Newspaper and they have lots of great info on the group but I have been unable to obtain either Davy or Micky's Auto-biographies and would like to know a bit more about their personal histories. All in all, I'm a happy fan and will be for life! I have even turned my two son's (11 & 12) into fans. Thanks for the time. God Bless.Signed on: Tue Oct 1 18:18:34 MST 1996

I am collecting all the Rhino re-issues of the TV episodes, movies, and albums, trying to obtain all the original Colgems vinyl albums and 45s and so on! I am finding that there is so much Monkee stuff out there that it seems almost impossible to get it all! I'm currently trying to obtain copies of the live and unreleased material. So far I'm having little luck. HERE'S MY FAVORITES: My favorite Monkee: I like them all! My favorite solo artist: Michael Nesmith. Favorite Nez Solo Album: Infinite Rider On The Big Dogma. As a child who grew up in the 1960s, two of my first loves were 1.) television and 2.) music. Naturally, I became a huge fan of the Monkees' TV show. Eventually, my folks got me all their albums. I played those things until they about melted off the turntable. Then, as I got a little older, other things began to crowd my mind. The Monkees gradually slipped into being little more than a pleasant memory. Every so often, I'd see something in a newspaper or magazine about one of the boys--usually a "where are they now" segment--and think back a little. As my tastes in music began to mature and change in the 70s & 80s, the Monkees were eventually replaced in my heart by the brooding intensity of Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp, and the pure electricity of bands like Creedence Clearwater and The Clash. Yet, I'd still get a twinge when I'd listen to the Sex Pistols and hear Johnny Rotten covering "Steppin' Stone." Every so often, I'd dust off one of those Monkee platters, place it on the turntable, listen intently and smile. It never went any further than that, however. I thought the Monkees were passe, and my fascination with them as a child was little more than a case of "misguided adulation." I mean, the music was born out of a TV show about a band, right? How could I ever put a Monkees album on the same turntable I played Springsteen's "Born to Run" and "The River"? Finally, after graduating from college, I began to piece together a life. I got a profession, a wife, a family, a mortgage. At that point, the Monkees had become little more than a footnote in my past. And, for more than 10 years, that's where they remained. Until August 1996, that is. Late that month, I got a call from a good friend--and old roommate from college, who was the best man at my wedding. He goaded me into attending the Monkees' "reunion" show that had pulled into Cedar Rapids that day. At the last minute, I decided to go along. I wasn't expecting much. But what I got in return was something amazing--a rebirth! That night, even though the boys didn't come close to topping any of the five Springsteen shows I've witnessed, or match the performance of the Clash one night long ago in a high school gymnasium in Davenport, Iowa, they still put on a show that was still something very, very special. It reawakened something in me I thought was long dead. From the first chords of "Last Train to Clarksville" to the closing moments of "Listen to the Band," I was mesmerized by the three middle aged fellows who once dominated my youth. I had forgotten how much fun those songs were, and how much fun the boys were. To see Mickey playing lead guitar on Circle Sky--my favorite Monkee song--blew me away. The next day, I went out and purchased each and every Monkee reissue from Rhino I could find. I eventually got them all. Everything there is. I fell in love with their music once again. Hearing Mickey's original version of "Mommy & Daddy" was really special; Pete's "Can You Dig It?" is a hell of a number; Davy's performance on "I Want To Be Free" is by far his best vocal effort and Mike's "You Told Me." It was like getting reacquainted with an old friend. I just want to take this opportunity to say thanks, guys. It's wonderful to know--and remember you--once again. Thanks for making someone who is starting to feel a little older every day--feel young again!Signed on: Wed Oct 2 10:48:17 MST 1996

I have been a huge fan of The Monkees ever since I was born. I've seen all of their shows and I own about half of their CD's. I recently saw them in concert for the first time on July 12, 1996. Thanks to my friend, who helped me sneak backstage, I was lucky enough to meet them (except for Mike, who doesn't go on tour). I got all of their autographs and had my picture taken with them. I don't like to play favorites, but Davy Jones was always mine. After meeting them, I decided that Peter was the nicest. Davy still rules, because he was on The Brady Bunch singing "Girl". My favorite somgs are "Listen to the Band", "Laugh", "Sometime in the Morning", and I guess any other song on their "Greatest Hits" tape.Signed on: Wed Oct 2 20:05:38 MST 1996

Hi everybody! I'm leaving this message to voice my opinion about the unfair way Rhino Records has reissued The Monkees episodes on video tape. I certainly believe that the box set was avery nice package. Sadly, not everybody could afford to spen over $300 at one time and were unable to purchase the set. I was excited to see that Rhino had started to release individual tapes, with two episodes each. However, I am extremely upset to find that they will not be issuing every episode in this manner. It is not fair that those of us who could not afford the enormously priced box set will not be able to have a copy of all of the episodes. Frankly, I am a little bit peeved. Rhino has, for the most part, done an excellent job with their reissue campaign. I just feel that we, as Monkees fans, should write Rhino and voice our strong opinions on this issue. Maybe we can encourage them to change their stand on this issue. Thank you very much. Your Radio Active Monkees Friend, John C. HarrisonSigned on: Thu Oct 3 09:20:01 MST 1996
Hi all! Gosh, I just love this page. Whenever I'm feeling blah like today, all I have to do is come here and jump around to other Monkee pages and I'll be all cheered up again. God, I love those guys! They are the only people in the world who can make me happy every single time I listen to their music or see their gorgeous faces. I hope they come back to New York soon. I know the east coast had them for most of the summer, but boy do I miss them. By the way, LonestrangeO, I just love some of your messages. I guess you like Micky too, huh? I had the BEST view of every angle of him at the Westbury Music Fair this summer. Fifth row! Can you believe it? I'll tell you now, pictures and television have got nothing on the real thing. He is one fine looking man! And I cried my eyes out the first time I heard him sing, "Since I Fell For You." It was almost more beautiful than "Sometime In The Morning." ;) Love you lots, Micky! FIRST TIMER! I just discovered this page, while surfing for monkees info. I have been a Monkees fan since the beginning ( man, I'm old). The Monkees are gonna stop on the way to Chicago and play in Normal Il. (yes there is a town called Normal). I'll be there, but in the meantime, since I'm new to the computer world, how about some info on Fan clubs, Monkee stuff, web pages, etc? If you can help shoot me an e-mail. Thanks!Signed on: Thu Oct 3 14:56:18 MST 1996

Hi! I am thrilled to be included in the Monkee's guestbook. I have been a fan since I saw them on a disney special back in the late 80's. I can't choose a favorite member because I like each one for their individual talents. I bought the box set, courtesy from Rhino Recods. THANKS RHINO!!!! I saw them twice in concert, however, I never saw Mike in concert. Oh Well. I am EAGERLY anticipating the new albulm from the guys. Fave episode from the series: The Band Contest. Fave songs: Door Into Summer, Zor and Zam (T.V version), Valleri, Star Collector, and All The King's Horses to name a few, but you can name any song!Signed on: Fri Oct 4 10:02:04 MST 1996
Only 11 days until "Justus" is released!! I can't wait! All of the fans have to do their part and call their radio stations to play it! Also, if anyone is interested in signing a petition to get the guys into the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, drop me a line!Signed on: Fri Oct 4 14:35:42 MST 1996
We have been Monkees fans as long as we've been best friends (which is more than 20 years!). Val missed the 20th year reunion concert in 1986 because they were scheduled to play on Yom Kippur; thankfully, I (as well as Alica) was able to see them August 8th (at the Va. Beach Amphitheater) of this year. Alica likes Mike in his stocking hat, and Val LUSTS after Micky (minus the pony tail! Just kidding!)! Whoa baby! Mike, we missed you on tour, but we know you're doing a FINE job mixing the new album! One note: we would have loved to have met the guys after the concert, but there were too many HOOTCHIE-MAMAS "hanging out"--and you-KNOW what-we-mean! Love YA! XOXOXO AND PEACE! :) ;)Signed on: Fri Oct 4 17:21:29 MST 1996

We also have all your records. YOU ARE A VERY COOL GROUP. Davy Jones and Mickey Dolenz I think are the cutest. YOUR FRIEND Crystal ElliottSigned on: Fri Oct 4 20:06:29 MST 1996

Okay, so I'm not old enough to have been around when the original episodes aired, but I do know what I like and what can stand the test of time! I love the comedy, the music, and, basically, the guys. My favorite monkee? Mickie of course! He is so hyper - I love it! My favorite episode? All of them, but the best film work to date is definitely "Head". My favorite song? Circle Sky (live version) or Porpoise Song. I went to the 86 concert in Indy when I was 11 and I was so elated when I was able to see them again in 96. They just keep getting better. There's only one problem - I want the box set with all the episodes, but I can't find it anywhere! If anyone can help me, feel free to drop me a line on email. Thanks guys!Signed on: Sat Oct 5 10:20:42 MST 1996
A most outstanding effort, by the Webmaster. I find that keeping nostalga alive is cool and interactive. This site is linked with many music site, too bad none of the Monkees hold a Chat nite. HEY HEY gotta catch that last train to Clarksville!!Signed on: Sat Oct 5 15:26:43 MST 1996
Hm....A silly little band gets its own silly little web page? Cool! Been watching the M's whenever the local TV stations would put them on..not often, but got hooked when I was home for 6 weeks due to a broken leg. Nice to see they still exist in some fashion.Signed on: Sat Oct 5 15:32:46 MST 1996

Hey Hey -- Back again! Was cruisin' B&N yesterday and the Oct 11 issue of Goldmine caught my eye. Lots of stuff in it. Article on post-tv years, great interview with Andrew Sandoval, and most importantly, a review of Justus. Their critic seems to love it (and why shouldn't he?). Check it out folks. Always been a fan. 3rd gen fans are just as real as 1st gen fans, we had no control over our births so stop hogging all the backstage passes. Sorry, had to cut that loose. To everyone who really thinks Micky , Davy, Peter, or Mike is gonna marry YOU. Please stop, admiration is one thing but thats pushing it. Love them for their show, music, and various other reasons, but get REAL.. The Monkees are one of the best things that ever happened to our world of music and entertainment, I don't know of any songs I dislike, and it is far to hard to pick a favorite. Head was a great movie, and I hope it true that they are making another on their lives. Sorry if I've offended anyone but this is America, besides I'm too busy singin' to put anybody down. : )Signed on: Sun Oct 6 16:12:31 MST 1996

I was in love with each one of you guys! I've seen Jones, Dolenz, Boyce and Hart in 1976 at the DeAnza College Concert. They were great then. Heather's got a point -- where's the promotion? If 'Justus' is as good as the reviews are so far, the whole thing may end up going nowheresville if it doesn't get promoted. Since there seems not to be a machine in place to promote the album, I suggest that we, the fans, will just have to do the promotion work for them. Any suggestions?Signed on: Mon Oct 7 16:22:36 MST 1996
Mike has always been my favorite. I always wished I could find a wool hat like he used to wear. He also did most of the best songs in the group. While I am thrilled he is on the new album, I am equally disappointed that he won't tour with them. I have seen Davy, Mickey and Peter twice. So seeing just the three of them again wouldn't quite that special. Mike would make it worth ANY money for tickets.Signed on: Mon Oct 7 20:26:31 MST 1996

Well, one thing that we could do as of this very HOUR,start calling your local radio stations. No, not the oldies, although heavens knows every bit counts, but the top40 types. Try the program manager first, see if he/she has received or even heard of JUSTUS.if they have,be oh!so upbeat and happy like be sure and mention the Billboard review. If they haven't heard or got it: same thing, stay upbeat.Say "oh,I'm surprised!BillBoard gave it such a GREAT review! Call the DJ's too. Rhino's got a web site around here, somewhere. A person could e-mail them, ask what's up.Any other ideas?YO!Signed on: Tue Oct 8 10:11:30 MST 1996

GLORY HALLELUJAH! If it weren't for the thinking people of our little realm nothing would get done. But obviously, some people have been harder at work at it than I. Many thanks to the people who put the JUSTUS Campaign together. It's going to help me out big time. Hint hint to the guys -- maybe you should hire some of these people to work for you. At the rate that your fans can go, we could have you sitting on top of the charts in no time. Teach those kids who think they're making music a thing or two about real music while you're at it. (OK -- I'll admit what I believe. A great big chunk of the music made today stinks. There, now I've told the whole world.) But here's another thought I had -- What if the PTB at Rhino have some top secret plan that they're about to set in motion to surprise us all? If I'm right, someone please clue us all in -- we obviously can't stand the suspense; and we're not going to sit on our hands and wait for you to do something if you're not.Signed on: Wed Oct 9 14:49:32 MST 1996

I have been a fan since the sixties. I am a limousine driver from outside Phila- delphia. I drove Micky when he was in town doing GREASE last fall, and I got to drive Micky and Davy this summer for the Monkees show at the Valley Forge Music Fair. It was a very enjoyable experience.!!!!Signed on: Wed Oct 9 17:02:31 MST 1996
I have been a Monkees fan since I was 15 yrs. old. I am now 21. They have got to have the coolest music out there. I am glad to hear they have a new album coming out soon. At one point in time, I had every single episode recorded, unfortunately, they have been lost. I was lucky enough to go to their Anniversary Tour in the late 80's. It was a great show. I hope I will be able see them once again. My favorite Monkees Tale is that I had picture taken with David Jones at the Real Live Brady Show at Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Home of the greatest fraternity, Kappa Delta Rho (that's where I meet my husband, Scott!!!). Anyways, he had his arm around my shoulder and a great smile on his face. Thanks Davy. I just want to say Welcome Back Monkees!!!! Hope all goes well for the new album. I know I'll definitely buy it. MandySigned on: Thu Oct 10 09:24:00 MST 1996
SAW THE GUYS IN COLUMBUS, OH. THEY WERE PLAYING AT THE "ZOO!" I MEAN AFTER ALL, WHERE ELSE WOULD YOU EXPECT TO FIND A BUNCH OF MONKEES?!! I CAN REMEMBER THAT THE VERY FIRST "ROCK AND ROLL" RECORD THAT I EVER BOUGHT WAS "DAYDREAM BELIEVER." OF COURSE I WAS JUST A TEENY TINY GIRL!!! NOW HERE IT IS 30 YEARS LATER AND WHILE THE GUYS AND I HAVE AGED JUST A LITTLE, THE MUSIC IS STILL THE SAME-GREAT MONKEE BUSINESS! THE MONKEES HAVE EVEN TURNED MY 9 YEAR OLD INTO A MONKEE MANIAC!!! SHE LISTENS TO THE NEW LIVE ALBUM CONSTANTLY, AND NOW SHE HAS THE GREATEST HITS RELEASES TOO. I HAVE TO SAY THAT AFTER SITTING ON THE FRONT ROW AT THE COLUMBUS CONCERT, AND WATCHING ALL OF THE GUYS, MY FAVORITE "LIVE" MONKEE IS PETER. HE HAD SUCH A GREAT STAGE PERSONALITY AND EYE CONTACT WITH THE AUDIENCE. I WAS MESMERIZED. DAVY AND MICKEE WERE STAYING IN THE SAME HOTEL AS I WAS, AND WHAT A SURPRISE TO SEE THEM WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR MY TAXI TO GO TO THE SHOW. THEY WERE KIND ENOUGH TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS. WELL THAT IS MY BIGGEST MONKEE EXPERIENCE IN THE LAST 30 YEARS! I HOPE THAT THERE WILL BE MANY MORE EXPERIENCES AND YEARS TO COME!!! OH BY THE WAY, MY 9 YEAR OLD SAYS "SHE LOVES YA MAN!!!!" (AND SHE DOESN'T WANT YOUR BUD LIGHT.)Signed on: Thu Oct 10 19:31:24 MST 1996
#1 Monkee fan in South Alabama...Music Education major--cut my teeth on Bach and Beethoven, but I LUV the Monkees--they're cool, G-r-r-r-oovy, & actually great musicians!! I saw them in '77 when they performed at "Big Daddy's Lounge" in Pensacola, Florida--Micky's sister, Coco, sang a couple of songs with them.Signed on: Thu Oct 10 20:28:00 MST 1996
Well, you don't know how happy I am to see that I am not the only one who 'members The Monkees. Used to watch their show on the telly every Saturday night back in '66. Had all their records and drove my older (female) cousins nights playing them on their record players.Signed on: Fri Oct 11 05:15:32 MST 1996

Monkees. The best. I've seen them twice now in concert and I adore t them. My favorite songs are "Take a Giant Step" and "D.W. Washburn." My favorite Monkee has always been Davie, but when I put my arm around him to get my picture taken last month he looked like there were worms crawling up his legs, so now I'm more of a Mickey fan. He has a cute little head. My friend Evan got Mickey's beer bottle (with signature) and I touched it. I forgive Mike for leaving the greatest band of all time, but still don't understand why. He was always my dad's favorite. I thought he was long and balding and kind of scrawney but he does a hell of a job with "Listen to the Band." So. Monk on.Signed on: Sat Oct 12 00:57:29 MST 1996
Ditto on what Heather said -- same thing goes for places like Media Play, Best Buy, Recordtown, etc. Also found out that B. Dalton Booksellers might be able to get "Hey Hey Were the Monkees" if you're interested. I know I shouldn't do this here -- but a great big "pfffffffttttt" to Rhino for having no confidence whatsoever in the guys. To Davy Micky Mike and Peter -- Happy Anniversary anyway, even though it looks like y'all are still getting dumped on by the PTB. Even if they don't care, we still love you. Hang in there -- it can't get any worse.Signed on: Sat Oct 12 10:20:08 MST 1996

The Monkees were my first favorite group when I was eight years old back in 1966, but it wasn't until I was older and they had split up that I really began to appreciate how good their music really was. I still love it, and I bought the Monkee's box set a few years ago. It's funny how even today the Monkee's don't get the respect they deserve, especially from a musical standpoint. Even today, it's not cool to admit that you really like the Monkee's music. I think my favorite Monkee is Mike Nesmith, because musically he is the most interesting. Songs like "Sweet Young Thing" were ahead of their time, before country rock was "cool". My favorite Monkee albums still are Headquarters, Pisces,Aquarius,Capricorn and Jones, and maybe a close third is Head.Signed on: Sun Oct 13 21:26:03 MST 1996

Saw the Monkees in 86 in both Nashville, TN and Arlington TX. Had the opportunity to see them again this summer in Memphis, TN. My daughter, Kenna was able to meet them and have her picture made with Davy Jones - thanks Davy for making my little girl's summer. Also, thanks to the Monkees fans we met while at the show that helped us get the backstage pass, and to the young ladies who escorted Kenna in to actually meet the guys. If you see this message, please email us. My brother Craig and I would love to hear from you!......and any other Monkees fans, for that matter.Signed on: Mon Oct 14 21:22:13 MST 1996

I just picked up "Justus" and think it's great! One question though, why would Mike cover up his vocals on "Circle Sky" again? I still liked it anyway, though I'm not used to the new lyrics yet.Signed on: Tue Oct 15 11:56:06 MST 1996
Alright!! I'm the first one to put in my "JUSTUS" review! I just went out on my lunch hour to buy it. I've only listened to it once so far, but I REALLY like it. ESPECIALLY, Circle Sky! Warning the disc is very 90's. Not their usual sound. It's really a clever mix of very different types of music, which makes sense because each of the guys are so different! Anyway, I thought I'd spread the word - now I'm off to call my radio stations (even if they laugh at me). Call yours too, or this album will sit if people don't know about it!!!!! Now where can I get that CD-ROM??????Signed on: Tue Oct 15 12:00:37 MST 1996
To coincide with the release of JustUs, Melhi's world famous Newbie Tour makes its debut on the web, today. (The rest of the site is still in progress of being scripted and uploaded.) Check it out... if you dare! MelhiSigned on: Tue Oct 15 12:06:13 MST 1996
I have loved the Monkees for the past 10 years now! This summer was the best Monkee summer I can remember!!!!!! Not only were the guys sounding their best, but I had an unbeliveable experience!!!!! I'd like to share it with you all! I was the reunion tour on July 26 at Hershey Park! It was amazing! I honestly was impressed! I also had reservations to see David at his Learning Annex meeting in Washington, D.C. That was great in itself. It was a very intimate atmosphere, and David just glows when he has the chance to talk for hours. After he spoke, Mara (my friend and fellow Monkee lover!) had the chance to talk with him. He owns a home near our home in central PA, and we began talking about all the places we go and his favorite restaurant. It was fun. As Mara and I went to leave, Davy asked us if we were planning on going to the concert in Richmond the next day. We told him we didn't have tickets, so he said he would leave us two at the box office if we both wanted to go!!!!! As if that weren't enough, when we arrived there were two tickets and two backstage passes there for us!!!!! The Richmond concert was unbeleiveable!!!!! I was struck once again by what a great group I have chosen to follow! They really do treat us as fans well!!!! By the way, I just got e-mail here at school. My box is usaully empty, so feel free to drop me a line!!!!!!!Signed on: Tue Oct 15 14:21:59 MST 1996
Hello fellow Monkee lovers. I am 14 years old and all the time I hear "Your So young, how did you ever get into the Monkees?" Well It's a long story and right now it doesn't matter, all that matters is that I'm here. I had a great monkee exprience!!! 8/14 they were in Mankato. After the concert, My mother said she had a surprize for me and she pulled out a backstage pass! It was ultimately the best night of my life. I got to meet Peter, he signed my picture and record. And I got to meet Micky, he also signed my picture and record plus Mickey called me "sweetheart". But Davy had left right after the concert so unfortunatly I did not get to meet him. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME!!!!!Signed on: Tue Oct 15 19:20:27 MST 1996
Okay. Okay. I'm going to be totally honest. I think the new Monkees CD, "Justus" is pretty lame. There. I said it. With the exception of "Regional Girl" and "Unlucky Stars," the rest of the CD seems--obviously--very low budget . (Did they spend all the money on the graphics/jacket?) I'm beginning to feel that record labels are like wine companies: if they have to put it in a fancy bottle to get you to buy it, the quality on the inside must be suspect. I understand WHY they wanted to do this project; guess I expected more.Signed on: Wed Oct 16 09:32:56 MST 1996
Oh yeah, one last comment. I hope they make money on "Justus" only for the reason that I'd like to see the four of them get back together--again--and get the NEXT all new Monkees album a better shot. I'd hate to think that this was intended to be their 'swan song'. Suggestions: sing and play your own instruments, guys, but get someone in there with a "critical ear" to produce it AND NO ARGUEMENTS WITH THE PRODUCER. Find someone you all respect. Personally, I tought you never sounded better than when Chip Douglas was at the reins. Personally, I don't have a problem with you guys using "studio musicians" as long as you participate, too. (Even the Beatles used studio musicians. Let's get real here. Not everyone can play the French Horn.) All in all, I really expected a better product. Sorry guys, but I've been an avid listener since I was a kid. If I was still 14, I'd probably accept "Justus" as okay, but being a middle-aged baby-boomer, I thought you'd put more into it. Why not give it a go again, in a year or two, and use a decent producer in a decent studio? Just a thought. (Maybe Rhino will release "Unlucky Stars" as the first single with bonus tracks from some of the 1996 live shows.) Oh yeah, whomever that woman was playing the synths on the current tour rocks!!! What's her name? Does she have any solo material out? Peter: you and David do a helluva version of "Lucille" live. Why not cut it in the studio? It's a classic. How could you go wrong? Just a thought. And while I'm whining, has anyone out there got a copy of the Quad 8-track of "Loose Salute"?Signed on: Wed Oct 16 09:51:09 MST 1996
Wishing you the best of luck on the new album!Signed on: Wed Oct 16 10:56:53 MST 1996
What a day yesterday!A new Monkees CD and a very special rememberence; Chicken Soup For the Womans' Soul featuring a story by my late Mother, Phyllis Volkens,(1935-1996). It's on page 37.I'm very proud of her. To JUSTUS:Like Vince,I was at first chagrined by the CD.I didn't like it.But just like that first taste of wine,it takes time to aquire an appreciation for it and so it was with JUSTUS. My vote: Overall winner:Tie between Dying of a Broken Heart and Regional Girl. Both are highly danceable, singable, cruisable doing 85mph.You can mix them up for club play, you can line dance up a storm to Regional Girl. UNLUCKY STARS;definetly a two-step boot-scoot.Pasty Cline would have loved this and I mean that as a compliment. PAPA DON'T MAKE ME LISTEN TO THIS; Never Enough. Please DON'T release as the first single.nuff said. Phyllis Volkens,(1935-1996).Signed on: Wed Oct 16 11:39:03 MST 1996

I have a big collection of things I have received over the years Lots and Lots of magazines. I first saw them in 1986 in Santa Clara,CA. Then in 1987 in Sacarmento. Then we justed recently saw them at Universal Amp.in June. We saw them at the City walk at Universal and I had them sign my magainzes and a group picture that i had of them. I was really happy to meet them face to face. Sincerely, LisaSigned on: Thu Oct 17 21:12:16 MST 1996

But I have been a fan for about..oh, well.....um....1-2 years reciently. I always use to know the Monkees by their song "Daydream Believer", which I always use to call "Sleepy Jean". Just felt like assing that tid bit of information. I would LOVE to talk to another fan! My favroite picture of them, so far, is the beautiful color picture one in the PICTURE section, (Geez, who would have thought?). Anyway I'm here so just drop me a line.Signed on: Thu Oct 17 22:05:39 MST 1996

I hope everybody is enjoying the newly released album, Justus. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but I love it just the same. I guess I was expecting Mike Nesmith to make put in a stronger appearance on the album. I agree that it is one of those albums that takes time to grow on you. My favorite songs so far are "Dyin' of a Broken Heart," "It's Not Too Late" and the remake of "Circle Sky." There has been a lot of questions about the possible promotion Rhino could do for Justus. As a DJ, I can promise that I will be playing all the songs from the new album. I do a radio show every Saturday night from 7 - 8 p.m. on 90.1 FM, KSYM, the San Antonio College campus station. The program is a Monkees spotlight show called "Monkee Business" and it features group and solo material from Mike, Peter, Davy and Micky. I have a blast hosting it, and if the calls are any indication, the listeners are enjoying it, too. I can't say that the radio airplay I give to Justus will make a huge difference overall, but every bit helps. Here's wishing The Monkees good luck in the future. Thanks! You may remember me from my name earlier down the line, but I forgot to add .com on my e-mail address and I almost freaked when I couldn't fix it. I hope you don't mind listening to me babble again. I really hope to hear from some of you guys soon!! I am a 16 year old girl and I love to write, esp. poetry. Is anyone out there musically talented? I would love to write music, but the problem is that I'm illiterate when it comes down to writing the actual music! Anyway I just got the Justus cd and It's pretty good. I haven't listened to the whole thing through and through yet. Have any of you guys ever hear Micky's cd called "Micky Dolenz put's you to sleep"? I also got that one (found it accidentally), anyway it is pretty good. I like it a lot!! Take care everyone, have a great life. Bye ByeSigned on: Fri Oct 18 19:58:05 MST 1996
Hey all you Monkees fans! I love the Monkees and can't wait to hear their new album. I am an 18/f and have loved them since I first saw them on Nickelodeon. I recently attended their Memphis concert in July and loved every minute of it. They were great and funny too. The best part of the whole concert was when Davey Jones touched my hand when he was singing the song "Girl". Since then I have been on cloud nine! I have bought a bunch of their TV shows and visit their home page every other week to see if they will be on TV, etc. I even have 2 of their group pictures in my dorm room! I love reading all the other messages on this page. They are great!!! If any of the Monkees reads my letter: I love ya'll and think you are great and I hope to see you in concert again!!!! To Davey: Please let us Monkees fans know when you will be traveling with the Brodway production of Grease because I would come to see you!!!Signed on: Sat Oct 19 11:33:28 MST 1996
I am convinced that when The Monkees recorded the song "I'm Gonna Buy Me a Dog," they had to have been smoking crack. If you don't know what I'm talking about, find that song, listen to it, and agree: it had to be CRACK. Check out J's Joint (Jamiroquai's home page) and check out Jamiroquai, a whose music is reminicient of the funk of the `70's. Give it a listen, I'm sure you'll like what you hear. PS- ***I LOVE MELISSA ROSE!*** And I love the Monkees!Signed on: Sun Oct 20 10:18:57 MST 1996
I just wanted to put up another message to ammend my first one on the subject of "Justus". After repeated listens, its been in my CD player since the 15th, I must say that it has grown on me and I enjoy it much more now than I did at first. I have even come to love "Circle Sky" (how could you not love that tune?), even with Mike's washed out voice. I must confess, though, that I still catch myself singing the old lyrics. I wish they would've included more of the studio antics on the disc, such as Micky admitting to forgetting "the crash at the end". I've come to thoroughly enjoy Micky's tunes, and feel that the personal aches he has gone through enhance his delivery of them. Davy's usual bouncy tunes are in keeping with his style, and just plain fun. My favorite track of his has got to be "It's not too late", for he sang that in concert in Virginia, which marked my first date with my new love. When the song first came on and she heard it, she exclaimed that it was the same as in concert, and we were able to share the memory again. I guess my only regret for the album is that Mike and Peter weren't used more for vocals. I think it would be interesting to hear Peter give "Never Enough" a go, and see what Mike could do with something like "Runaway from Life".Signed on: Tue Oct 22 14:47:37 MST 1996

I bought my first drum in 1975 when I was 10 years old. I had one Monkees record, I think it was Clarksville/Take a Giant Step which was split from the donut hole to the outer edge and skipped very often. There were no monkees albums in the stores (Monkees/pop music was uncool in the rockin 70's). However, I just remember listening to Take a Giant Step over and over and wishing I was the drummer. The musicians on those cuts were really great and the music was so much more honest than the 70's R&R. I wanted to be a Monkee/Micky Dolenz for all the obvious reasons My first drums were gold sparkle (like one of the sets in the tv show) I've been playing drums for twenty years and the memories/songs of the monkees still remain very dear to me. I'm glad there popularity had increased in the 80's/90's. I've been asked why I started playing and I always tell'em Micky Dolenz. I think Micky should know these things, There's all little (now not so little) Monkees kids all over the world kickin ass in great bands... When in Boston, Check out "The Bogus Crew" 8 piece R&B band at the Purple Shamrock (Quincy Marketplace) and Commonweath Brewery (across from the Fleet Center) most friday nights... My father use to sell spanish polka music to Michael Nesmith's father years ago in Fredricksburg, Texas. It was at that point in time that Michael's father handed my dad some 45 records of his son with some band called the Monkees to sell. It's been great selling Monkee records! I just wished I could have met Michael that would have been the finishing touch for a record man.Signed on: Mon Oct 28 23:49:07 MST 1996

Hi! I have been a fan for a very long time now! In fact, I was just 6 when I saw my 1st concert 30 years ago. I still have my program! Surprisingly, I have quite a bit of memorabillia. The Monkees were a VERY big part of my life! I saw Mickey in a play at The Pheasant Run theater called "Remains To Be Seen" when I was 10 or so, and could have talked to him if I only had the nerve! Same story 15 years later in Las Vegas! I have to laugh...some things never change! Mickey has spoken to me twice, and although I shook his hand, only a squeeky "thank you" came out of my mouth when he congratulated me on my marraige! OOPS! I did get to sit next to Mickey's mother during the intermission at Pheasant Run though! She was very nice to me! Anyway, I on Nov. 22 I will be going to my 3rd Monkee concert during this tour. I've also had the pleasure of seing a few concerts from the 20th anniv. tour! Can't get enough! MarianSigned on: Thu Oct 31 16:34:59 MST 1996
Hi, Peter, Micky, Mike, Davy and all you fans. I've been a fan of the Monkees since their beginning, 30 years ago. I was 10 years old. I think Peter, Micky, Mike and Davy are all equally talented. I loved the new CD, JUSTUS. I think the first single of the CD should be "It's Not Too Late." Then other songs could follow. Are there any San Diegans out there to tell me what radio stations I should call? Peter is my favorite of the four. A lot of people don't know how talented Peter is. He writes beautiful songs. And he sings much greater than you know. If you haven't bought his album yet, then you should get it. The name of it is STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED. You can send $15 plus $2.50 for Postage and Handling for the CD or $10 and Plus $2.50 for the cassette to: Beachwood Recordings 4872 Topanga Canyon Blvd. #223 Woodland Hills, CA 91364 You can get more information from the Peter Tork Homepage. I love the Monkees and always will.Signed on: Fri Nov 1 12:51:35 MST 1996

Hi, again! I made a mistake in my email address from the message I left on November 1 at 12:51pm mst. Now it's fixed. Thank-you MONKEES for all the great music and entertainment you've given your fans over 30 years.Signed on: Sat Nov 2 14:31:58 MST 1996
I have been a Monkee fan since the mid-seventies when I found their records in my older sister's record collection. The seventies were not a good time to be a monkees fan, let me tell you. I used to get comments like "Oh, you're a Monkees fan. Do you play with Barbies too?" Yes, I took some abuse for being a Monkees fanatic at that time. But what else could I do? I hated disco! I had to find something to listen to! I'm just glad that time has vindicated me. I'm also glad to find that there are other Monkee maniacs out there besides me. My favorite Monkee songs are "Door into Summer" and "Shades of Grey" Thanks to whoever put this page together. I don't normally get a chance to surf the net, but I had fun playing with your pageSigned on: Sat Nov 2 18:48:19 MST 1996
i just got my ticket ordered for the november 23rd show in milwaukee. i am in the center section row K...if anyone from my area is going try to look me up. i will be wearing my davy jones shirt that i got last sept. before they played in green bay...that was agreat show-we ended up in the front row!!! after all the years of liking the band and the music that was the first time i got to meet davy and micky. i saw davy in grease in chicago too. i'm a believer...valSigned on: Sun Nov 3 16:37:04 MST 1996
i forgot to add a few things...davy has always been my favorite and when we saw them in green bay we were in the front row. of course i was singing along and all of a sudden he shoved the mike in front of me-i just kept singing but after wards i almost died...jane said she could hear me but she didn't know who he had done that to...when i saw him in grease i was looking at him thru binoculars and he pointed at me and said i see you looking at me looking at you...it was funny. i have the japanese import "monkeys" album...and the bardy bunch movie soundtrack...plus an older tour shirt and some photo sleeve 45's, plus a lot of my original 45's from the old days when i was in grade school...they sure look good for their age. i loved them on that one sitcom...i'm off line at home so if anyone from wisconsin wants to send snail mail my address is 3741 glenkirk lan oshkosh wi. 54904....especially if you are going to milwaukee on the 23rd. every step of the way... oh-pool it i got signed by micky and davy last sept. valSigned on: Sun Nov 3 16:47:52 MST 1996
