If you received this email by mistake, please email me back with the word "remove" in the email and we will remove you from the list right away. We are now taking pre-orders for the " Michael Nesmith Live At The Britt Festival" 2 CD set, http://www.videoranch.com/gshop/index.html?t=frindex&c=1 and we're expecting them in within the next week or so. Now's your chance to get the set for $16.95, our pre-order price. As soon as they're in stock, the price will up to $21.95. What is The Britt ? It's a truly wonderful concert Nez did in the early 90's with the entire "...tropical campfire's..." band. It was recorded at the venue, in Dolby Surround Sound. It was mixed in Dolby as well so the whole piece sounds great. It has an incredible version of "Rio" on it which you can see and hear at Videoranch. It also has an incredible acoustic version of "Different Drum" with just Nez and his guitar. Nez had the whole concert filmed and we sell it on video (VHS) as well http://www.videoranch.com/gshop/index.html?t=frindex&c=2. But, this is the first time it has been put on CD. It's already getting great reviews in the UK which we will post at Videoranch soon for you to view. If you stop by the Flicks part of the Videoranch Store, http://www.videoranch.com/gshop/index.html?t=frindex&c=2 you'll notice we've lowered our prices on a lot of our videos, including Repoman, Tapeheads, Square Dance, and Nezmusic. We are also starting to put our products up in 3D. You can see and manipulate Nez' novel, The Long Sandy Hair Of Neftoon Zamora in 3D as well as Elephant Parts on DVD. Just go to http://www.videoranch.com/gshop/index.html?t=topcat&c=0 and click on the Download Cult 3D icon which will take you to cult3d.com. Or you can go there from here: http://www.cult3d.com Download the free plugin and install it onto your computer. Then whenever you see "Would you like to see this in 3D" while shopping at Videoranch, click on it and you'll see it in 3D. You can actually open both the book and the DVD and read from it. You can bring the product very close to you and the image will stay clear. We think it's extremely cool. We'll be putting more of our products up in 3D over the next few months. If you need help, let me know. If there is a certain product you'd like to see in 3D, send me a request. The Ranch Cam has been picking up a lot of beautiful Autumn color, so be sure and stop by: http://www.videoranch.com/html/cam.html. That's all for now. Email me with any questions and also make note that our new Ranch Hand Hotline (kind of) phone number is 505-988-3034. Our old number still works, but you're more likely to get one of us on our new number. Thanks a lot! Waddell" in the November issue of Texas Monthly magazine in The Ex Files section http://www.texasmonthly.com/mag/1999/nov/index.html Michael Nesmith by Patricia Busa I knew what I wanted to do when I was four years old in nursery school and stood on a chair and pretended that I was directing an orchestra. When I was around nineteen, I was playing guitar and decided that I wanted to be a folksinger. But the problem was, I didn't know any folk songs, so I had to write them myself. I had a lot of friends who were also just wandering around with guitars, so I said, "We should all get together and sing two or three songs and put on a little show." I got four or five of my friends and went to some shopping malls, which were just starting out, and set up little sing-along fests to promote them. The mall would put together a big campaign to promote us, and that's why people would come and listen to us sing. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Nesmith was born in Houston and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Dallas in 1961. Although best known as a member of the pop group the Monkees, he has written hit songs (Linda Ronstadt's "Different Drum") and produced feature films (Repo Man).
