For those interested.....
In the Shakespeare Amateur Riders' Handicap at Lingfield today, Digpast
finished 5th out of 15 participants. Comments from Sporting Life stated
"started slowly, headway over 11f out, led 7f out until over 3f out, soon
weakened". Interesting thing though, David's name wasn't posted as the jockey
on the results..I am checking on this since he was the jockey on the five day
declaration. May be an oversight or an error.

Okay I have done some investigative work... So far I have
found out, David was NOT the jockey riding Digpast in yesterday's race. The
jockey was Miss R Illman. I am waiting to hear back from the trainer to see
what happened since David was listed as the jockey on the 5 day declaration.
I will pass on more info as I get it.

I recently purchased a video from Disney called "Summer Magic". It is a new
release of an old Haley Mills movie. In the opening ads for the new "Haley
Mills Collection" (Pollyanna, Parent Trap, That Darn Cat) they played "I'm a

There will be no Monkees tour dates in 1998. Davy, Micky and Peter decided
to take a couple years off to pursue solo endeavors. Davy will be on the
road with the Teen Idols tour, Peter will be recording a new solo album,
and Micky will be focusing on his directing career.

Davy Jones is already signed on to a Teen Idols tour with Peter Noone and
Bobby Sherman; that tour is tentatively set to run June, July, and August

Peter will spend 1998 recording a new solo album. He'll also be playing a

On January 16, Peter and the Shoe Suede Blues band played a charity concert
which was taped by Cox cable network. The concert will eventually be aired
by Cox Communications, which provides cable TV service to about 3 1/2
million homes across the U.S., in markets like San Diego, Oklahoma City,
New Orleans, Cedar Rapids, Washington DC and many others. The producer of
the special has promised us a complete list of viewing markets and
broadcast dates, and we will pass that on to you as soon as we get it.

Micky Dolenz's original acrylic paintings can be seen in the traveling
Image Makers Rock'n'Roll Art Expo, alongside the artworks of other famed

MONKEES TOUR BAND
Aviva, the multi-talented musician who played saxophone, flute, clarinet,
and keyboards and provided backing vocals in the Monkees' backing band of
the last two years, has recorded a solo CD, "Reed My Mind", to be released
in March. Monkees 1997 keyboard player Kincaid Miller doubled as producer
and co-writer on the project, and Monkees' 1996-97 lead guitarist Wayne
Avers also played on the album and contributed a song or two to the
project. The format is "smooth jazz"---a style popularized by artists like
Kenny G. and Dave Koz---mostly instrumental, but a few songs will feature
vocals. Orders are being accepted now for the autographed limited edition
(a thank you to Monkees fans for all their support!) of Aviva's "Reed My
Mind" CD; send your check or money order for $15 per CD plus $2.50 shipping

Monkees' 1996-97 lead guitarist Wayne Avers will conduct a guitar workshop,
March 12 at 7 pm at the Robert M. Sides Family Music Center, 201 Mulberry
St., Williamsport, PA. Call 800-326-9450 for directions and further info.
John Blair, producer of Davy's "Just For The Record" series, set up the
workshop and says Wayne will discuss guitar technique and highlights of his
career, which will likely include tales of life on the road with the
Monkees. Afterwards, Wayne will do a 9:30 pm show at the nearby Bullfrog
Brewery, 229 W. 4th, Williamsport--call 717-326-4700 for details. Wayne
will be accompanied by a full band--including John Blair on bass,
keyboards, and vocals--and the set list will include selections from
Wayne's solo contemporary jazz album, Monkees covers, originals, and
retro-pop classics.

The Monkees' movie "HEAD" will be shown at The Roxie in San Francisco, CA,

Subject: Specifics on Epcott show
For all those wondering about David's solo show in Epcott and have spent
endless hours on the Disney info line, here's the low down.....
David will be performing in Epcott as part of the Epcot Repertory Season. The
Epcot Repertory Season is an ever-changing program of exciting and
diverse live entertainment with performances at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6:45
p.m., and 8 p.m. In May, they are saluting Flower Power and the '60s! David's
performances will be part of this salute. The performance will take place at
the America Gardens Theatre May 8th - 10th. This seems to coincide with
Epcott's International Flower & Garden Festival. The price for the Festival
is $24.95 plus tax per adult, $9.95 plus tax per child, plus Epcot admission.
I am still trying to clarify if you have to buy festival tickets in order to
get into David's show. I will keep y'all posted but this looks like it could
be an expensive show!

While flipping through the March 23 issue of U.S.News and World Report,
imagine my surprise in seeing a Monkees mention! On page 65, under the
Critic's Choice column, it says "#1 WITH A TWIST, Top Tin Tote: The

episode of "Cannon" that Micky appeared in will air Sunday, March 22 on

I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but in the current issue of
WIRED magazine, with the picture of the little girl on the cover (a
fictional story about cloning), there is an article on gravity
shielding. In it, the author travels out of country, and turns on the
TV and mentions the Monkees being on. He even quotes the theme song in
another language.

Hi,
Sunday night, 12:30 a.m. EST. on Comedy Central, they are starting the
show, the tick from episode one, which the first season has Micky doing the
voice. The tick comes on every weekend saturday at 2:30 am and sunday at
12:30 am. So this sunday is ep 1 next week will be 2 and 3.
If you haven't watched it is cool to hear him, and he is so funny in it.
and The show is funny too (esp if Micky's doing the voice) that's when I
definately watch it :)
